Just to clear up a misconception. The term "liberal arts" has nothing to do with politics or studying art. In fact, the term dates back to Medieval Europe and the idea dates back to the Greeks.

The term "liberal" refers to a curriculum to prepare free citizens for leadership roles in society. The current use of the term liberal arts refers to a broad based education that includes math, sciences, social studies, and humanities.

Liberal arts colleges and most of the top-ranked universities (such as Harvard, etc.) all offer the same liberal arts curriculum.
