Out of curiosity, I want to know if it is worth applying to Columbia my senior year.

As of grade 10, I have a 97.7 cumulative, weighted average (93.6 unweighted). I've gotten above a 90 on almost all of my regents exams (I'm from NY) so far, with the exception of chemistry and geometry, which are definitely not things I plan on studying. I have a strong passion for humanities. I have pretty good ECs, some of which include Model UN-which I am very passionate about, school newspaper, literary magazine, and a recycling club. I am going to be inducted into honor society junior year, as well as world language honor society. I'm assuming I'll get an 1800 on my SATS since I got a 1600 on my PSAT, and I'm obviously going to study/take a class. Also, since I enjoy writing, I'm hoping my essays can benefit me as well.

Note: My uncle attended the university when he was 16 and was a very large benefactor. I don't know how much that helps though since he is only my uncle.

I really love the school, but I understand my grades aren't necessarily up to par. Although I think I'd fit in, it seems to be all about your grades/test scores. So, any advice? Is it worth paying for the application in two years?
