Any suggestions for math colleges?

<p>O.K., so since my parents and guidance counselor haven't given me much help in deciding which schools to look at, I was wondering if you guys at college confidential could give me some advice. I'm not looking for extremely competitive schools like Harvard, for one because I probably can't get in and for two, I want a fun college experience. So basically, I'm looking for some good colleges, most likely ones for a math major. Here's my info:</p>

<p>I'm a white female who will be entering senior year this fall.
Academics: 98 average weighted (I'm not sure what it is unweighted)
My school is ranked number one in Western New York
I've taken four AP tests (one of which I didn't take the class for). I received a 4 on AP European History, a 5 on AP American History, a 5 on AP English, and a 5 on AP Chemistry. I've also taken Calculus I and II at the University of Buffalo for college credits.
Senior year I will be taking AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP Statistics, Economics, French I (I completed Spanish 1-6 but can't fit AP Spanish into my schedule), and Multi-variable Calculus and Linear Algebra at UB.</p>

<p>SAT: math- 800
reading- 730
writing- 690
SAT Math I- 750
SAT Chemistry- 700</p>

<p>Awards:
Rochester Institute of Technology Computational Award
Scholastic Awards in Physics, English, Spanish, Biology, and History (all from different years)</p>

<p>School Activities:
Peer Helper (11) – peer mentoring
Book Club (11)
Quiz Bowl (9, 10)
Service Club (10, 11)
School Service (10, 11) – baccalaureate set up, art room set up</p>

<p>Community Activities:
Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth Group (9, 10, 11)
Sunday School Teaching Assistant (9, 10, 11)
Community Service (9, 10, 11) – mission trip to East Sumner, Maine;
Pie baking to raise church funds; Allentown Art Festival parking director for church parking lot; 200+ hours total</p>

<p>Employment:
I work for a single mother's home business setting up for events such as weddings.</p>

<p>And if it helps, my dad went to Cal Tech.</p>

<p>Do you have any preferences for the colleges in terms of location, public/private, financial aid, etc.?</p>

<p>I would recommend Rutgers University - New Brunswick. They have a very strong Math department and it can be considered a match for you. Have a look at it.</p>

<p>I’d like to go to a school in a city, maybe a medium to large school. probably a private college. If it’s at all possible, I’d like to go to a school with a lot of school spirit, maybe with a good football or basketball team and a great student body. thanks!</p>

<p>What can your family afford? Or will you need to look for merit or FA?</p>

<p>The cost of the college won’t be a factor in my decision. My parents are willing to pay my tuition as they did with my brother as long as I go to a good school that I like</p>
