Any Suggestions For Schools with Medical Schools That Would Fit For Me?

Hi Everyone!

My name is Greg and I am a high school junior that attends a private school in Southern California. As I had become a member recently of this brilliant website, I came to realize the enormous amount questions I could ask/search for. Some of the things that I try to do best is suit myself up for success in enrolling in a college that would help me to achieve my goal of becoming a doctor, and if needed, obtain a business degree if I were to open a business for under my own practice. The questions I have for the community is if I had a high chance to get into a prestigious college that would offer a pre-med or accelerated medical program

Here is most of my college resume:

Have around above a 4.3 Accumulative Weighted GPA and a 4.0 Unweighted GPA

Hobbies:
-Love to play and watch soccer in my spare time
-Drums (I have taught myself how to play but I have been in Marching Band for 1 yr but have been playing way longer -than just High School; I cannot read music)
-Hanging with Friends
-Reading Online Articles about Technology and Sports

Background:
-1st Generation Born American (Parents both born in Egypt and own 2 pharmacies)
-I believe I am able to write African-American on my application (contingent without a North African choice)
-Speak and Study Arabic (conversationalist, and have taught myself how to read it)

So with that being all said, I would like to hear from the whole community on if I have a high chance to enter a School like Notre Dame, John Hopkins University, Columbia, Boston University (accelerated program), George Washington University (accelerated program), Duke University, Stanford, UCLA, or any Ivy League Schools in hopes of becoming a doctor. What should I add to my resume or focus more on?

I appreciate any comments

Thank You!

You do NOT need to go to a college with a medical school to go on to med school after your undergraduate degree is complete. What you want is a school where you can get a high enough GPA to be considered for med school, a school where you will be well prepared for the MCAT, and some ECs related to the medical profession (which you can easily accomplish in the summer if needed). You GPA is strong, but your test scores are quite low for the colleges you are considering. And you have to think about whether you can get the GPA you need at any of those schools if your scores are below those of other students at those schools.

Could you get accepted? With a boost to your test scores, it is possible that some of your schools might be low reaches. But is it the best path to med school? Not necessarily – competition is grindingly difficult for pre-meds at the schools you are looking at.

First of all you should know that there’s really no such thing as a “pre-med” program. Pre-med is pretty much just a set of courses you take which make you elligible for med school. Literally anyone from a human biology major to an electrical engineering major can apply for med school if they’ve done all the pre-med courses and completed the MCATs.
Now to answer your question. You need to work on your test scores. Every one of the schools on your list (with the possible exception of GWU) is extremely competitive and it’ll take more than a 1700 to get in. Even a 2000 won’t necessarily be enough. You should try for an SAT of 2100+ or an ACT of 33+ to really be competitive for any of those schools.
I wouldn’t really recommend going through an accelerated medical school program unless you’re ABSOLUTELY sure you want to become a doctor. Accelerated programs are extremely intense and can detract from the undergraduate experience. If you’re dead set on medicine look into UCSD’s Med Scholars program. You’ll need a SAT of 2250+ or ACT of 34+ to qualify, but it is probably one of the best and most flexible direct med programs in the country.

@saif235 Don’t you mean 2200+ and 33+?

^Yes
