I feel as if I do not study correctly or to my potential, and whatever I try I cannot remember much. I get great grades on my most of my tests but what I suffer when I have to study for mid-terms and finals because I panic and feel as if I have forgotten most of the material learnt and I m then overwhelmed by how much I have to study. I just want something somewhat simple and easy to follow that could help me, my school counselor was no help and had nothing to offer. I am really nervous because this week I have to choose my courses for next year and I really want to take certain AP courses but I feel I would not do well because of my study habits. Anything helps, I'm really desperate now.

From my own experience, I have found that stressing over things and over-studying generally results in poorer performance. Break things up, relax in between, make the experience very casual and you will absorb a lot more with a lot less stress.

I think a good-but-very-inefficient method is reading my textbook out loud to myself. And watching video lectures on YouTube.

I’ve made a similar post elsewhere, but I make all of my notes extremely sarcastic and add in some memes (I quote directly from my US history notes: “America went all LEEROOOOY JEEEENKINS”). My idea behind this strategy is that I remember everyday conversations with my friends much more than I do some random lecture. So, I try and make my notes informal and sound as though I’m having a conversation with a friend.
