Any Survivor Watchers?

Romeo is guaranteed a spot in the final three, everybody will want to sit next to him because he won’t get any jury votes. The other four will be duking it out at the immunity challenges.

Omar’s game was sneaky - he wasn’t there to make friends. I get it. I also understand someone being upset at this style of gameplay. I know I’d be an emotional player. But it is a game and Omar, IMO, didn’t do anything hateful or mean - he played the game extremely well.
Also, in past seasons, you had to leave the tribal counsel immediately after getting voted out. I disagree with Drea being given the opportunity to “out” Omar. She exposed his game - that was for the remaining players to figure out on their own.

Finally caught up
On the last two episodes.

Super bummed to see Omar go. Not sure why Maryanne thinks she has any better chance with Jonathan there. Currently not a fan of hers!

For me, a bummer to see Omar, Drea and Hai go. Rooting for Lindsay the bad a_s at this point.

I for one am happy that Omar is gone. As for “outing” Omar and exposing his game(s), all sorts of crazy things have happened at tribal councils over the years. I’m OK with that.

I’m hoping Mike, Lindsey and Jonathan make the final 3. And I’d vote Jonathan as the winner, at this point, since he’s had the target on his back from the beginning. Somehow, he’s made it this far.

Lindsey and Jonathan have played similar games. Both are challenge beasts. Neither have shown significant strategic moves to the jury. They both made friends on the island and gained respect from others. They are gunning for each other and whomever loses a challenge first will likely be voted out.

Besides being a chatterbox, Maryanne is more articulate than the others. She will likely be able sell herself better to the jury.

After they are voted out, jury members are asked to do a word association about their tribemates. This is what each of the jury members said about those remaining in the game. The comments about Mike make me think that he didn’t do very well selling himself to the jury.

I didn’t think Drea outing Omar on his move was unusual. While those voted out have to leave, they often say a few things. Not the first time that a person’s move has been exposed.

No comments on the finale yet? SPOILER ALERT–DO NOT SCROLL DOWN IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHO WON:

I think the jury was ready to pick Mike as the winner, but Maryann absolutely won them over with her explanation of her strategy that ensured she’d make the final 3–you could see the surprise on the jury faces as she explained.

Second point–I like having the the post-game show on site immediately after the final tribal council. It seems like the responses are much more honest and unfiltered than in the studio, months later. The only drawback is not having the non-jury eliminated contestants on hand, but in recent years they have been ignored more and more.

I agree about the post game show. Responses are different after they have watched the series at home with family and friends.

I found it interesting that everyone except Lindsey knew that Omar was manipulating things.

I think the jury also appreciated the fact that Maryanne knew that the young people with strategy were being voted off. You could see the jury thinking back and wondering why they didn’t realize that.

Mike kind of dug himself into a hole. He insisted he didn’t lie to people but then had no way to sell his strategy.

Sorry if I missed this, but how were you able to hear about or watch what happened at the Ponderosa? I couldn’t find any Season 42 Ponderosa videos and then I read that they weren’t releasing any this season?

There are none - Omar just said in a online interview how he was treated poorly.

This is the interview that I watched.

That was great - thanks!

I still have to watch it he after they announced the winner part. I don’t know if it was the edit but I felt Jonathan did not end up in a good light. Maybe it was his competitive push but I felt he edged on mean towards the end.

Lindsay would have been my fav to win, but not to be.

Certainly Romeo want going to win. Mike did seem to sort Of rub alot Of the jury wrong by the end. A few weeks ago I would have never picked Maryann for the win

We watched the finale while visiting family in NYC - my 18 year old nephew is a huge Survivor addict. He had buffs from previous seasons for us to wear for the show!

Yeah I wondered why they did no Ponderosas!

Surprising winner to me, but Mike definitely turned the jury against him. I wonder if this is the first time that someone who won no challenges (or rewards?) became the Sole Survivor. Jonathon did not have a great social game, but certainly kept his initial tribe in the game longer by being a challenge beast. Really thought it was a good season with a good cast. Not giving Lindsay her idol was Maryanne’s best move!

I don’t think Jonathan was mean at all. Actually, my pick to win was Lindsay and I thought she was the one who became bitter and mean. She called him an idiot multiple times behind his back and her anger towards him after the Omar vote was nonsensical.
It’s a tough game- people snap or get condescending, but you can’t hold it against one person because he’s a big male. Lindsay proudly called herself an Alpha but was critical of Jonathan for the same thing.
People should be careful throwing around words like misogynist, which she did in her exit interview.

Just to clarify I didn’t point out that Jonathan was a male AND mean. I said he - a contestant- seemed to have mean edge. Certainly others did as well. That was just at least by the edit a CHANGE I noticed in him.

Survivor isn’t a game of honesty and niceness. There are certainly moments of all that but part of the strategy is being conniving. Part of game plan and part of the west and tear mentally after not eating and the other less ideal living situations on the island.

Wonder who from this season we will see back

Mike (if not too far in the future), Omar, Drea, Lindsay. And maybe Maryanne if they invite back winners.

I would like to see Omar, Jonathan and Jenny back. I think Jenny had great potential, but was just cut too soon. I really did enjoy most of this cast.

It was a really great season! Everyone was really playing. I like having the winner revealed out on the island but I would guess keeping the secret would be tough.

The bootlist, which turned out to be pretty accurate down to the number of votes at FTC, has been out there for at least two months.
