Any Tips for you SCers?

Hey guys,
so uh, I just dug up my Brood War CD, and I'd really like to get better, since all my friends play it, but I really really suck. Anyone have any tips on getting better, or any strategies to work on? My beginning game and Build order seems to be fine, but it's like midgame and endgame that I really get caught up on. anyone care to help?

This topic is bringing back many old memories of afternoons spent playing StarCraft. I almost feel like digging out my old CD now. :P

Some general advice:

Never sit around and wait for your units to build; you should be doing something productive at all times.

Massing large amounts of a single type of unit will almost never work against experienced players (Mass carriers =/= instant win). When attacking, use different units that complement each others' abilities (e.g. ultralisks and zerglings w/ adrenal gland upgrade - ultralisks absorb damage while zerglings rip through enemy lines).

DO NOT practice on money maps (Big Game Hunters, Fastest Map Ever, etc.). Your skill level will improve much more quickly if you play on normal maps.

Watch replays of professional-level players and try to incorporate their strategies into your game play.

I play the new SC...Supreme Commander. The next generation is here...and it is glorious.

I've been playing Starcraft for years. If you play on US West just whisper me sometime and I'll play some games with you. Account on starcraft= spacefarm
