I'm attempting to transfer from another 4 year university to UCI for my sophomore year. Unfortunately, my application was rejected. However, I sent in my appeal the day after receiving my rejection. Anyone in the same boat as me? My first semester freshman grades sucked, I was at a 2.73, so that's probably why they rejected me. In my appeal letter, I pointed out that my second semester grades are much much better, currently they are around a 3.5 and I also talked about the different activities I'd get involved with at UCI. Is there any chance my appeal will be granted.

which 4 year university are you transferring from?

Boston University

oh... isn't boston university a good school?
i think UCs reserve most of their transfer spots for ppl coming from community colleges, cus for people already in a 4-yr university, they figure that those people already have a school to get an education and graduate from, whereas people from community colleges don't have anything~

I can understand that. I'm just not that happy at BU. It's a good school, just not the right fit for me. I'd like to move closer to home, since I'm from California, but I realize the odds of acceptance on an appeal letter are pretty low.
