i'll be a transfer student for fall 2005, and i just got my financial aid package from Cornell.

but, it's pretty crappy. To be exact, i got nothing. Anybody know if there's anything i can do to try to squeeze something out of them?

Well.. squeezing something out of them is difficult. If you didn't get any other competing financial aid packages from other institutions or had changes in family income, I don't know what to say. (I will be a Cornell freshman!)

I got my efc reduced by 9,000 and I got in ED, but I had to prove that my assets on the tax returns were spent on costs related to my grandma's death...so unless your money was spent on something important, I doubt you can get them to do much for your financial aid package

my mom showed finaid office checks sent to china to support our extended family, and things like medical bills, and that helped a little. Try anything you can. Transfer students are usually accepted later than other application groups, so if cornell's financial aid runs almost out, then you may be out of luck. how much financial resources do you have? do you have any major liabilities?
