198 jr year.

189 (Junior Score)

I got the exact same score as my sophomore year. I’m livid. I studied for the PSAT and everything and I didn’t even improve by one point! I guess I should be satisfied, the highest score in my AP English class was a 200. Oh well, at least I’ll probably get National Achievement.

Don’t worry about a disappointing PSAT score. You can still destroy your SAT, and National Merit is overrated anyway :P.

201 –> 205 –> 2320 here.

Got my sophmore PSAT back (207). It’s ok I guess. Missed 5 problems on the math because of stupid mistakes which is a shame. Only got 63 on writing somehow too, which seemed odd. 77 Cr is decent though?

^I’m jealous. I wish I could pull off a 77 on CR. This year my sophomore breakdown was
CR 69 M 80 W 75 (composite=224), but math and writing are easiest to improve while CR is impossible for me. I don’t know how you get a 70+.

214 [junior year] on the PSAT. Disappointed–I really wanted to be a National Merit Semifinalist.

I got 140. I suck. Critical reading is impossible, there were like 48 questions and I only got 10 right and answered a total of 18 because we don’t even get enough time. It’s awful. Now I know not to take the SAT.

Take it easy, guys, National Merit is nice but a bad PSAT score isn’t the end of the world.

My jump from PSAT to SAT was 390 points, and there were many other similar jumps.

Also, for Critical Reading, try taking an AP English course in your school, if offered. Even passively sitting there and listening boosts your score.

Math -76
CR - 76
Writing - 64
Total - 216

Could’ve been better. If it wasn’t for a careless mistake on math, I would have had a 220. Then again, I qualify for semi and only 1 kid in my grade got higher than me, so I guess it’s not too bad.

Math - 80
CR - 80
Writing - 80
Total - 240

Overall, I’m pretty disappointed with my score. I was expecting at least a 245, but this will have to do.

Critical Reading was my best score and Math was my worst. Anyone know how I can boost my math score? I’m planning on taking the SAT in March.

203 .

I don’t mean to sound spoiled, but I’m kinda disappointed that I got a 200. It’s a great score, but I know I’m gonna miss National Merit by a few points. That’s kind of frustrating.

apple beam, math is the easiest section to improve on. as you take harder math courses, sat math will become easier.

Got the individual scores today…

CR58 Math 63 Writing 68

Wow. I went down from last year in CR. What the hell?!

oh yeah my breakdown was:

72 CR
68 Math (4 silly mistakes smh)
63 Writing

I want my score back though - I am curious how I did.

I think I did well on math and writing - CR is a bit shaky though. :/

202 I was so ****ed because I was looking at my answer documents and literally every single problem I missed I had originally circled the right answer and then changed it except for this math one where I didn’t even read the problem because apparently it said that the lowest number you could add was ten and I ended up adding like two and three. Plus I can’t use time as my excuse because I finished every single section with at least five minutes to spare. Eff my life

I was disappointed that a got a 73 in math (I missed two medium difficulty problems because of careless mistakes), but overall I was happy with 223. I have a few questions about the NMS. I read somewhere that the cutoff for Massachusetts was 223. Does anyone know if this is accurate, and does this qualify me for commended or semi-finalist? Sorry if this is an obvious answer, but the NMS website didn’t seem to show a list of cutoffs.

google NMS cutoffs. MA is generally the highest… in the 220-223 range.
