Wow, there has been no action on this forum for Lawrence University for quite some time. It is actually a bit depressing since it is my kid's top choise..
How's the weather?
Still snow on the ground?
I guess Wisconsin union actions won't affect the University?
Any recent rock concerts?
Any new restaurants?
Is there an ice hockey team?
How warm is the indoor swimming pool?

Hey! I applied to Lawrence and am waiting for a reply. I don’t know if there’s still snow there, but there’s definatly tons of it across the border in MN. There’s a hockey team there and I believe they are decent. I’m not sure about the other questions but I will (hopefully) be attending an admitted student day in the beginning of April, and I would be happy to fill you in.

Lu was my son’s top choice. He loved it and is graduating this spring from masters program at U Mich. It seems like yesterday that he was in Appleton. I was there with British friends last summer showing them some of the wonderful places in the USA. Appleton is one.

Yes snow there still according to a friend who lives there.
Lots of good restaurants
Pool?

Weather. Starting to warm. Appleton missed most of the rough winter that hit Chicago and Minneapolis–this year.
Snow. Yes, but most of it will be gone by week’s end.
Wisconsin politics probably won’t have much impact on Lawrence. That’s not to say there hasn’t been a lot of discussion about the recent events in Madison.
Rock. No major concerts here recently. There is a lot of all sorts of music on campus.
The most important recent restaurant is Carmella’s. Great Italian food.
The hockey team is good–not great, but competitive.
Pool. I’ve never heard anyone say that it is cold. (There might well be more than one, but I don’t really know.)

was not sure if everyone was hibernating
