My family consists of 6 people, and my dad makes about 30k a year (mom doesnt work)

Yes... is there some sort of table we can refer to?

And will a college contact me if my fee is not waived or will it just ignore my application??

Fee waivers are usually come from and are handled by your guidance counselor. Usually the school provides 4 waivers (in reality you will probably not be applying ot 10 schools all on fee waivers), it really depends upon the school but I am sure your guidance counselor will tell you.

Students who use SAT fee waivers who plan to enter college in September 2004 are eligible to receive up to four Request for Waiver of College Application Fee forms. These forms notify participating colleges that you have participated in the SAT Program Fee-Waiver Service and request that colleges waive their application fees.

Hi - My daughter & neighbors did fee waivers through the guidance counselor at school but there is a warning , it seems to take longer for processing the application ( more paperwork ) . The eligibilty goes by the guidelines of the FREE & REDUCED LUNCH program at your school. If you get Free or Reduced lunch , then most likely you are eligible for fee waiver . There is also a limit of up to 4 applications.

easydoesitmom - Thanks, that is very helpful.

I didn't know that fee waivers were limited to 4 apps...

Most colleges say that you can assume that your fee waiver is accepted if there is no contact from the schools.

Hey, if it is not accepted and you owe them an application fee, they will let you know
