anybody watching WBC???????(KOREA vs JAPAN)

OMG. this sucksss sooooo much.
what kind of ****ty rule is this????

Korea beat Japan TWICE already!!! and we have to play each other AGAIN for the THIRD TIME because of some weird rule and if Japan wins this one they get to go play for final as in 1st/2nd place(vs CUBA) while Korea is stuck w/ 3rd or 4th!

Korea, so far in WBC, won SEVEN TIMES straight!!! while Japan lost three times//(twice against Korea) and they get to go on to 1st/2nd place while WO DON'T????

what kind of **** is THIS???

AND!!! Japan won right now,, (6:0)

dangit./.

what's wrong with you guys? Japan is consider to be better in baseball than Korea although the two team always have this long time rivalry similar to that between the Red sox and Yankee. It doesn't matter which team win though, they are both asians

I watched the ending of it, but didn't know what was going on. I normally don't watch baseball, but couldn't find anything else worth watch/listening to while working on projects.

I know Japan is usually considered better than Korea. It's just that in WBC, somehow, even when Korea beat Japan two times before already, Korea had to play Japan again for the THIRD time(blaming weird WBC rule), and since Japan won this game, they get to go on to the final.

it just seemed REALLY. UNFAIR.

and sweetdream:
if you are either Korean or Japanese, you will understand what I'm talking about. This was not just a baseball game to all of us Koreans and Japanese...

BUT! it's over now.

they're both asians?
That's such a stupid comment. That's almost liek saying why is there a rivalry between Umich and OSU they're both Americans and all in the mid-west.
Anyways i realyl hate watching korea lose to someone ESP. japan. But we'll totally beat them in the WorldCup this year!!!
About the process, i don't know about the process but i believe that there is some unfairness towards korea when compared to japan. All i can think of is the difference in the ending of the okinawa rape incident and the tank incident in korea.

i'm still proud of the kor players though.
they did a really good job.

Yeah, I think the idea of doing two rounds of pools is dumb. They should break straight to elimination games (like soccer); however, with the small amount of teams, I guess two rounds of pools makes sense to lengthen the tournament in the meantime.

I was hoping for Korea to beat Japan. 3-game sweep of Japan, undefeated run to the final? Would have been great.

I'd like to see Cuba win. A tournament hailed as seeing the major leaguers play on a world stage won by a team with no major leaguers--That would be awesome.

happyggal, I really don't understand your frustration. Hey, the Colts won 14 games straight in the regular season, and the Steelers went 11-5. But the Steelers beat the Colts (just once) to win the AFC title and later the Super Bowl, and you don't hear Indy fans complaining about an unfair system.

I realize that the WBC pool system isn't exactly analogous to the NFL but the situation is pretty close. It's just not some "weird WBC rule"; it's similar to situations encountered across various professional sports.

I agree with somebodynew that it would be cool if Cuba won, but I was cheering for the Dominicans in the semis...a finals game of Dominicans versus Americans would've been an interesting matchup of major leaguers.

It'd be pretty cool if the WBC became an even bigger, more prestigious international event in years to come.

Oh well, Japan won, still enjoyed watching. Is the WBC going to be annual? I hope it gets bigger and bigger.

I heard that it was scheduled for once every four years, like the Olympics. Kinda disappointing that it'll be a while until they play another.

I know it would take more time and resources with so many countries competing, but I really think that they should rework the system (at least from semifinals on) to include some sort of series play. The champsionship should not be determined by just one 9-inning game - I'd like to see a best of five or something like that.

And the pitching/pitch count rules, those need to change too.

I was hoping that Cuba would pull through in the last few innings. Oh well.

Yeah jimmyeatworld, I'd like to see a real World Series, even if it's best of 3 or best of 5. Semifinals and finals would be enough.

the watanabe guy is my friend's brother.

I would like to see what would happen if the JBL teams had to play MLB teams every year, like the Chiba Lotte Marines v Boston Red Sox, or something of that manner, as part of the regular season for both teams.
