Did anyone get accepted without a recent status change?
i.e. had "review" for a long time, and received the letter without it changing to "forwarded" or anything?
Perhaps this could bring hope to those that are willing to eat slugs to see their statuses change. =D

Second the question!!!

hahaha this is pretty nice of you to make this thread. im still waiting and my status has been stuck on forwarded for at least a month! i definitely need some hope over here :)

What a coincidence, I was just about to make this thread. :)

is forwarded the good status?

I don’t think it’s possible to get in without a status change… I really don’t know though. Status changes are automatically updated when your application moves through certain departments so it automatically changes from “forwarded” to “being reviewed” once your applications moves through, say, the office of whoever oversees the mailing of application materials. So unless your portal had a glitch in it or something, I really don’t think it would be normal to get in without a status change.

hrmm… i called USC and asked them about my app. They said it was under review but my status is still under “fall grades”

So, if I am forwarded and have not received a status change of reviewed, maybe the committee hasn’t got around to reviewing my application yet? It is getting down to the wire.

Yes, it is possible to be accepted without a status change. Seems like there are several posted every year. Here’s a recent one:

Thanks for the link, jazz/shreddermom. I had no idea. :)

has anyone been accepted with the “received fall grades” status without it changing?

for the last time your status has nothing to do with if you get in or not.
it’s only for internal and different department’s use…

warrenhui…I couldn’t agree more. I think it gives the staff and idea of where the app. is, or isn’t at any given time. I don’t think there is a big correlation between the status and acceptance. It all depends on who is working on it and what button they like to push to move it along the way.
