Wow it is not that difficult. Now I just wait the decision. I can't wait...!!!

that "only-one-student-per-country" rule is kind of intimidating, but it's not an inflexible policy. There have been exceptions, like, berea accepted 2 students from my country for class of 2010. (I'm from viet nam, btw) So, don't you worry too much. there's always the chance. :)

take care and g'luck everyone

Are they going to notify the decision today or next week?

Well cradleoffilth
thanks for the encouraging words
Well I am now not quite sure as to my next step.
I am waiting for decisions from 3 colleges in the US.
If that does not work out then I am waiting for the decision
of Jacobs University,Germany.(kinda hard this year with over 250 applicants from Nepal)
If that does not work out then I am hoping to get something positive from the waitlisted colleges.(Not much hope though)
By any chance if I am still without a college , come June then I plan to go to India to try to study there.(There are some good colleges there too.)
Even if that does not work then I believe I will enlist somewhere in Nepal and then reapply back to the US with experience on my side.

Looks like I have a well thought out plan but the truth is that I am not sure as to what to do and what not.

by the way SkyGirl and cradle of filth where are you from?
and good luck to everyone.

Any new updates???

I heard my rejection over the phone. You can call them

Chance me please? and just as a warning I tend to ramble a lot =)

Hi, I am from Mongolia and I’ve just recently graduated from an American high school (a preparatory, private one but small and full-scholarship for tuition too oh and don’t forget that 95% of the student body was international) and I’ve got 4.0 GPA and well I know this isn’t much SAT of 1830 (I intend to improve it, I can take it again with prepping next time maybe in Hong Kong it is the closest I can get =] ). About ECs it’s kind of complicated because most of the ECs I’ve done can not be backed by official documentaries because nobody bothers with papers and laws in Mongolia and my biggest hobbies is to ice-skate and to air-gun shooting, can I write them down as ECs? and math prizes in my school? Oh and of course about financial aids, there are only three of us in my family but my Mum is a single-mother and I think my family’s income would total around 7k/year aaandd she provides for my grandma’s sisters family too since they don’t have any source of income with a college-year daughter (I think I will mention it in my FinAid application somewhere…) And the biggest dilemma I am facing here is if I should go to a community college (Seattle Central Community College) and then try to transfer to Berea, or take a gap year because I looked up the statistics and it clearly shows if you’re transferring from a community college your chance of being admitted goes down spectacularly and Berea is already very selective as it is (19% if I am right) so the decision to go to Seattle might become a very costly mistake… Oh and only one final question is it a problem if I am still 16?

So well there it is, I would really appreciate it if somebody would make the effort to make sense of rambling and give me guidelines (grins). Thank you all so very much! Hope to hear something!

@Tunteg

No do not put things like ice skating in the application. Well, in my opinion, it almost shows NOTHING about you, just that you like to add useless information. As long as you don’t dwell on it, I would say it would be OKAY to add it, but still utterly useless unless to show that you are a well rounded person, something Berea is looking for but not groveling over. Berea only accepts ONE PERSON from any international country, but since you are a 4.0 and 1830 SAT, I would think you are okay. And don’t transfer, Berea says taht transfer is unlikely, meaning VERY VERY unlikely to around 2 people getting the CHANCE to apply for transfer every decade.

is quite helpful
you’re right. why would someone from europe who have best universities and all of them are cheap or free come to a small town in kentucky and attend a college, that’s not make any sense
The waiting is killing me
