post here if you are considering the cap program, and what UT campus you are going to.

Do UTSA then UT. I did it, totally worth is. The dorms are WAY better than at UT (own room + bathroom) and the campus is nice and has a nice gym and stuff. It’s easy to get a good GPA and then transfer to any college you want within UT… better than going to UT as a freshmen and making horrible grades.

Would never want to stay at UTSA though because the college life scene there is very lame…but a GREAT transition into UT and a REAL university.

I’m probably going to do UTSA to UT as well. The only thing that I’m worried about is getting into the Communication school.

Does anyone know if CAP is binding? Because if I don’t get into the Communication school, I want to transfer to TCU instead.

No, CAP is not binding. Some students choose to stay at their CAP schools.
I doubt you’ll have much trouble making a decent enough GPA to gain admission to Communications though.

does anyone know if cap gpa transfers over to ut austin, or do we start over once we’re at ut austin?

Your GPA will not carry over. CAPing is essentially transferring into UT Austin after a year at a satellite school, with the only real difference being that you are assured admission to certain schools by meeting base requirements.
