is it common for ppl at USC to double major? i'm in marshall, and my parents want me to double major there or stay at my home state school. is it a huge load to double major something like engineering and busi. admin? and would tuition increase if i double major? i want to have time to lay back and have fun at the same time too..

Engineering and business would be quite a large double major. However, double majoring in general is actually encouraged at USC. It doesn't cost any more, as long as you are able to fit your classes into four years.

...and stay below the 18 units/semester limit, after which each additional unit costs.

with some majors it's easier than others...with comm, journalism, a language major, or anything in USC College of LAS, you'll have an easier time double majoring. now if you are in cinema, engineering or a health-related profession it might be tougher due to work load and time constraints.

i am print journalism major who just declared a double major in POLISCI. I can finish both majors by my graduation date without even taking 18 units a semeste. if you have any more questions, PM me.

Look at the Viterbi Engineering catalogue/brochure where it describes the double major in Computer Science and Business. Does this interest you? I think you have to be accepted into Viterbi to do the CS major.

I doubled in Biology and Classics. Basically, I didn't take any electives. I was able to do it in 4 years with one summer at CC.

The other option is to take a couple of minors. I knew people at Marshall who minored in Cinema or a language.
