The thing is the my non-AP teachers (who never even thought AP classes) just assume that we are well-prepared for the AP exam, so they don’t need the lessen the load around this time of the year. That is far from the truth.

And I expressed this a million times: I hate gym.

^Are you required to take it?

Yes, unfortunately. It’s required.

I was thinking on Thursday night to myself that it didn’t have gym, I would have already been done with my homework by 11.

^^Wow…I am looking back at my post and all my careless grammar errors. It’s gonna haunt me forever.

^Every time I write PMs to someone, it’s always full of grammar/spelling mistakes.

I have to take gym too, except no one ever does anything in that class, so it just became this time to socialize.

I feel the pain as well:

AP Physics B: pretty much self-studying the entire course. Our teacher sucks!

AP Stats: Self-studying since our class is slow. Im done with the whole course while our class is like 5 chapters behind haha.

AP Calculus: Haven’t even started anything

AP Bio: Havent started

AP Psychology: Self studies. Finished the entire barrons. But i have to reread and take tons of practice exams.

ANd then i have stupid hw from my non AP History class. UGH…Those stupid tests. UGHHHHHHHHH Fortunatel, I have gym, which i do nothing in. WOOT wOOT!

I’m considering just skipping APUSH for the rest of the year and studying on my own. My teacher has never taught AP before and teaches us just like her non-AP students…that is, she spends class time talking about her childhood in the 50s and then tells us, surprise surprise, that we’ll have to read the last 5 chapters on our own because she doesn’t have the time to cover it.

Our school got a new principal this year who seems determined to get rid of all the experienced, seasoned teachers so he can bring in “fresh new faces”. I’ve been looking forward to AP English Lit since freshman year just because the teacher is a legend here, and now she’s suddenly “retired” and I won’t get her next year :(

^I’m sorry that such misfortune has occurred. The principal’s action is idiotic, in my opinion.

AP Calculus BC - done reviewing from the textbook. I will use PR to review and practice doing the MC and FR.

AP Stats book - done reviewing from the textbook. I will use Barrons to review and practice doing MC and FR.

AP USH - at Chapter 26 on the American Pageant. I will finish by next week. Afterward, AMSCO (in my estimation, i can finish reading in 3 days)

AP Euro History - Chapter 27/31 of the McKay’s textbook. I’m planning to finish reading the textbook this week. Afterward, I will read the AP Achiever book. It will also take me 2-3 days to finish. (still an estimation)

AP Physics B - have to finish reviewing/learning Waves and Optics. I’m going to use PR the whole weekend before the AP Physics B exam.

AP English language - I’m going to practice MC.

I feel the same way!!!

Bio, I’ve done a bit (Starting to really study like tomorrow)

Apush is the same deal as bio

Lang, nothing

Stat, nothing

Yay for AP Tests!

I can barely find an hour a day studying for AP’s with all the tests and quizzes in school. It seems like all the teachers are cramming in work before final exams. How do you guys manage your time? I “tried” to start studying a month ago, but it was just physically impossible.

And also we have stupid state standardized exams we have to take. Such a joke and waste of time.

Today I had the honor of teaching our AP Stat teacher how to grade the MCs. She did not understand that leaving blank answers means that no points are added or subtracted and tried to convince us that 1/4 gets deducted for answers left blank as well as those answered incorrectly. Yeah…

^Lol and at the same time.

If it makes you feel any better, I once had to explain to my guidance counselor what Score Choice is, and to my math teacher why we are capable of taking math level 2 subject test after taking the pre-calc course.

Yeah, it just amazes me how any AP teacher wouldn’t have that down by now. I have had to rely solely on AP review books for Stat, but I can at least say I am very confident that I will pass with at least a 4. I could tell I caused her some embarrassment, but I had to do it because she was going to grade our practice tests that way.

Same thing with the quizzes and tests here. More recently, I started this thing where I immediately start studying for an hour or two (depending on how much homework I have) for the APs when I come from school. This way I can’t make any excuses or put it off till ‘tomorrow’. I also stay up an hour or two later until I finish my homework - which will take a toll on my immunity system (just wait and see). And I also sacrifice my lunch periods.

I basically go for about 3 hours every day, 1 hour for reading review chapters, 1 hour for practicing MC, and 1 hour for FRQs. It keeps things balanced pretty well.

^ Curious…how many AP classes are you taking? Do you do that for each of your AP classes?

^yeah i was curious too. There’s not that many hours in a day for me to do that. Sometimes I review during class discussions…since people repeat the textbook during the discussions and I feel it is pointless anyways. I wish I had the super power of not having to sleep and still maintain normal functions now.

I’m taking 4 AP classes this year. However, I am able to get it all in because one is Gov, and another is Econ, and I haven’t devoted any time to those yet. When it is within a week to the exams I will get serious about those ones. I only need 3s on those 2 and I’m naturally very good at both, so they’re low priority for now. The others are AP Stat and AP Calc AB, both of which I need 4s. I switch off each day. I do Stat one day and Calc the next. I get home a little after 3:00 p.m. and I go for the entire afternoon, with breaks. It works out great. I just did Stat today and I scored a 31/40 on practice test 2 out of REA. I usually average around the mid 20s on Stat MC, so I’m getting better.

Wow. I usually do a mix. An hour or one AP Subject, some homework, and so on. I haven’t gotten to the giving up lunch periods stage, but I feel I should. I’m REALLY behind in AP Biology and APUSH, ahead of my peers, but they’re not doing anything, so it’s not that big of an accomplishment:/

Yeah, I basically have the afternoons and 6th period to study. My AP classes do some review too, so that helps a little bit. The best review is practice test after practice test, then rereading over the weaker areas.
