Anyone else get one of those giant packets in the mail? (HS Class of '11)

I got one of those giant books in the mail like the ones you get at most schools when you go on tour and there was also a full-out application attached for me to fill out (assuming I actually apply there...). I'm just wondering if anyone else got it. I personally find it a little annoying how they're sending me all this mail, especially since this most likely isn't "we want you to come to Wash U and will accept you" but rather "we want you to apply to increase our selectivity" type of deal >.<.

I haven't even visited Wash U yet. How is it? I've heard the dorms are nice and the premed program is obviously awesome haha (I'm most likely not doing premed though).

Get used to it. You will get this from dozens of colleges, there is nothing to be annoyed about.

My son got tons of mail from Yale and Columbia in addition to WashU. It’s not all about increasing selectivity.

Definitely get used to it for WashU…they send of LOTS of mail.

I got one from WuSTL last year as well. No big deal. (Got waitlisted by the way).

I got one. It almost seems like they’re offering me a spot at the school right now, which obviously isn’t the case. I am going to apply to Olin, though.

cavsfan that’s how i feel too! i’m probably going to apply also but i just find it annoying that they’re trying to get my to apply even though they may not actually want ME

get used to it or try and get your name off the mailing list cause EVERY school does that. even harvard, lol

ehh some of the SUNYs who are sending me stuff might actually want me lol

Yeah, get ready for a torrent of college packages.

I got one (along with their highest scholarship this spring). It’s not always “increasing selectivity.”
