Anyone else gotten no need on Princeton financial aid calculator?

My dad's salary is within the limits for receiving financial aid (I think 58% of tuition), but we filled out the calculator and it came back $0 need. I understand their policy of financial is they will provide enough for any accepted student to attend and we certainly cannot afford $50k+ a year (especially with three younger siblings). So, I'm confused! Has anyone else had this experience and then gone on to received need-based aid? Is there a possibility if I get accepted to Princeton or another Top U that they will end up giving me need aid even it seems like they won't now?

Salary isn’t everything. Having additional assets (savings, investments, homes, etc) will cause your award to be less. Someone making $100K per year with $10K in savings will get a bigger award than someone making $100K per year with $500K in savings and investments.

The calculator is probably fairly accurate, so if you’ve received absolutely nothing, either double-check your figures, or consider applying to a college that may be cheaper/offer merit scholarships. If you’re admitted to Princeton but still receive no aid, you could contact the financial aid office to haggle, but don’t hold your breath.
