Let me just preface with that fact that I KNOW I am WAY over analyzing everything...but who isn't on CC? lol

So been browsing through all the forms.....but I haven't see anyone really in the exact same position as I am.

Okay, so I was in "preliminary review" for about a month. Changed to the "in review" thing on March 3rd.....I did not get asked for mid years officially....anyone else in my position? I mean doesn't have to be March 3rd exactly...

According to one of the posts....there is supposed to be another wave this Friday....so should I expect to know by then? I hope so! I'm dying of anxiety!

Also, according to the USC "Theories of Admission" I should be higher up....maybe not a Admit - but not Deny - either.......

okay bottom line......is all this goooood?

Things will become more clear in the coming weeks, and right now nothing is certain. Some people had the "in review" status and were accepted in the first wave, so the status could be a good thing. This means they were the top applicants.

In my opinion, your status could either mean you are an admit+ or a deny-. I would think all the admit+ were accepted last week, but if they weren't, you could be in another wave. If not, you must be a deny-.

The reason I say this is because if someone is an admit- or a deny+, it makes sense that they should be requested to submit mid-term grades. Anyone who was requested grades could be a "admit -" or a "deny +." However, if you weren't requested grades it only makes sense that you are either an admit+ or a deny-. After all, if they have reservations about accepting someone, they would request the extra information. Then again, if they don't have any reservations about outright denying someone, they wouldn't request it.

It's a tough spot to be in. Basically, if you didn't get in last week, it's all up in the air. Not to mention other factors: you're an international student, may have applied for scholarships, and/or special schools.

Did you submit your midyear grades early? If so, they may not have asked you because you sent them in before they could make a request.

I'm in the same position. But I submitted my fall grades when I submitted my apps

i'm actually pretty close. applied october, didn't get scholarship (obviously) and my status changed to prelim review 12/19. next was under review around march 6th but now it says march 10 because they never changed the date the first time the changed it to under review.

they never asked for mid-years but i sent them immediately (as soon as they were available + my school mailed them out)

My daughter was not asked for her grades but she sent them anyway. Emailed a counselor on Thursday and he mailed her a few times with questions on Thursday and Friday and then on Friday afternoon her status changed to "in review." Don't know what to make of it, except she must be under consideration for the counselor to write her asking a few questions.

By the way, are you just visiting France? We go about once a year for a month or two (or 3)!
