Anyone else just loitering around waiting to start?

This extra month is pretty much useless for me. All of my friends have already started at wherever they are and my family just went on our last trip last weekend because my brother starts school this week. Summer break is going to be close to four months for me this year! :O

I’m just sitting at home and watching movies from blockbuster, talking over aim, and going to the beach every once in a while. Complete boredom.

Were supposed to be all happy for the extra break but I cant wait to get it started and the ball rolling. I wanna meet my roommate and hang with my friends from SA. Not to mention check in to my brand new dorm.

How do you guys feel?

I don't think I've done anything truly interesting all summer(since late may). The most eventful thing I've done was going to Summer Advising. lol

I've just been watching movies & TV, playing games, surfing the 'net, and rarely going out. I'm pretty eager to get started as well. (hence my constant visiting of this forum)

Hope you guys don't mind me answering here, since the UCSB board is too argumentative now :)

Anyway, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you guys. I took summer school classes at my community college, but those ended near the end of July, and since then, I'm just preparing to go to college, making checklists of everything I need, and aimlessly shopping around. In some ways, I feel like I could do more to get ready, but on the other hand, I can't wait to get started.

I am. On a side note, what's up with CC's thread count. If you go into the "C" section of the Alphabetical list of colleges, it shows that the SD, I, SB forums all have more "threads" than the UCD forum. So I'm thinking that our forum is pretty lively, at least a new thread everyday. I click on the SD, I, SB forums and they have only one page of threads, but Davis has like 6 pages of threads. Check it out for yourself. CC IS SHAADDDYYYYY.

If I remember correctly, until fairly recently UC Davis didn't have a forum on CC for unknown reasons(probably a brain fart by the admin). We got a forum about the same time as Merced(and possibly SC and R), so our thread count is inherently lower than some others despite the fact that it is more active.

So I guess all of us on the quarter system are equally bored by the late start.

I still have to start shopping tho, anyone else? Hopefully all the stuff I need isnt sold out yet..

If you guys are bored...gather up some friends and make the trip to Davis. (Sorry for the Ags in SoCal) September 3rd and 10th we have home football games at 6pm. Admission is free with your ID...get a free Aggie Pack shirt...its something to do. www.aggiepack.com

Stanford is on the 17th...that should already be on everyone's calender.

I still have to start shopping tho, anyone else? Hopefully all the stuff I need isnt sold out yet..

I'm still looking for some clothes, and I'm just about to make a very large order on drugstore.com for all the personal care stuff.

I actually like shopping now, during the weekdays, there aren't that many people in stores because they're at school already.

My parents swipe the card so I'm limited to the weekends for now, or else I'd be hitting the stores instead of sitting at home..

Megathunder, keep a journal, it will all start fast enough and end too soon....In the meantime, my D had some work to do in Davis and absolutely loves that town.

In order to use up my time, I've been working out. There's actually a private school with an awesome pool close to my house, and it has lap swimming open to the public on M/W/F. So I go swimming on those days, and for the other days of the week, I bought a T/R/S 30 Day trial to Bally Fitness for $19.

I'm using this time to make money so I can use it up at Davis... so it's not totally useless...at least in my regard.
