The fact that blue text is the same exact color as a hyperlink annoys me…

^I’ve used it to good effect before :D

^ I’m sure you have…

Sorry, I was typing on the phone. I meant to say search in the FAQ part of CC.

[College Confidential - Smilies](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/misc.php?do=showsmilies)

We can quote, but we should be able to just click a button to insert quote tags instead of having to type the HTML code out.

I asked the admin about this, and he said the quote button is absent from this site, since people can misuse the button and exclude important parts from people’s arguments. As if that can’t happen by just using quotation marks.

Also, if you hate avatars and pictures, there have always been options to block all images and avatars on every other message board that I’ve been on, so even if you don’t like them, you don’t have to see them.

Control + C,
[/quote]
control + V
[/quote ]
is not a hard thing to do IMO. I would rather do this than click a button because I normally don’t want to quote the whole passage, just certain things.

^It’s not a hard thing to do, but neither is just deleting the parts of text that you don’t wish to discuss after you’ve hit the quick quote button.

“since people can misuse the button and exclude important parts from people’s arguments”

That is definitely one of the dumbest things I have ever heard in my life.

^LOL!

Tell that to the admin.

People who take avatars and signatures too seriously are people who have self-image issues in the real world.

is it bad that i don’t even know what an avatar or signature is? avatar is that asian cartoon the kid i babysit is obsessed with, idk :/

We can quote, use smilies, change font, etc - what more could you want? It’s CC, not Dinosaur Barb B Que, ya don’t need that many options.

Btw i recently learned how to post a link but make the text say what you want instead of the url name. for example, i can post this [hey it’s a turtle, click on it!](http://www.nataliedee.com/060106/dry-ass-bran-muffin.jpg) oh snap, gotcha there :P

It’s not about expressing yourself lol. It’s about making your post more identifiable…

@east89 I would but they’d probably ban me

Lol… You forgot the find post, highlight passage desired, [quote=, check user’s name, try to remember it and spell it correctly, ctrl+v, repeat (if more than one passage needs quoting) parts, all in addition to what you mentioned.

@HarveyLewis
This is late, but how the heck did you edit your About Me? If it’s “Additional Information,” then mine is completely blank. It just has the title of the section and an empty box.

Edit: The more I look at these forums, the more I think they could use an update. Look at the “Hot” Topics!.. They’re ancient, and the “do you believe there is a GOD?” thread is WAY “hotter.”

I’m not a fan of avatars or signatures, but I do think the forums need some technological and aesthetic enhancements. The bookmarks and tags bars are clumsy, and much of the “my profile” section is defunct.

you can make your own updated college message boards…

Not being able to use images as posts pretty much ruins everything.
