So it’s a done deal -if we didn’t get anything on Saturday we didn’t get in??? that is a bummer!

Did anyone who does not live in the Andover area receive their acceptance yet?
No one I’ve asked in my area has received it, and on this forum, I have yet to see someone say they’ve received outside of the Andover area.

I think worriedone-said he got an accep[tance pakg and he lives in california?

Haven’t gotten anything either; but I’m not really expecting anything lol. However, I know Hotchkiss FedExs acceptance packages, too (I was accepted) and I haven’t gotten anything from them. I think it’s just how long it takes to recieve, process, and distribute all the boxes from their small town to yours. ;)

outdoorgirl, I believe WorriedOne was waitlisted, if I recall correctly.

azpandman - I checked the 2012 acceptances thread and he was accepted to Andover and on the first page of this thread itself thread he says “I received mine” so i think this means that yes , people from further away have already received acceptance packages – maybe not and hopefully we’ll be surprised tomorrow but that’s what it seems.

Ah, well, if he’s received his, and he lives on the other side of the country, why are we trying to fool ourselves? If you didn’t receive your package, then you were not accepted. Sigh Don’t want to believe it but I guess I can’t keep trying to make excuses as to why it hasn’t shown up.

azpandman- It’s not necessarily true that if you didn’t receive your package on Saturday, then you weren’t accepted. I remember reading someone’s post saying that they received the package a couple of days after March 10 for last year (and I’m pretty sure they lived in the U.S.) So don’t just give up yet! It’s still possible to get accepted. You might not receive the package tomorrow, but hopefully within the next couple of days. Good luck to everyone!

Please don’t call Fedex. Come on. I’m hearing that students are now calling them multiple times asking if their package is on the way. Really?

I know this is nerve wracking but we’ve already said that most schools ask you to wait until March 15th and then call if you still don’t have an answer. FedEx is probably cringing this time every year when they’re trying to track legitimate packages for clients and they have a thousand students calling to ask if something is due to be delivered. FedEx can work miracles but they’re a lot faster if you have a tracking number. But you don’t have one and those call center employees are evaluated on their “time spent completing each call.” So asking them to start digging into the system for your neighborhood or address is really a waste of their time and yours.

And why not call Andover and ask? Because you know it would irritate them. So why do it to FedEx? They’re not responsible for sending you something, Andover is.

FedEx will deliver on a Saturday IF the school paid extra for that. Saturdays are not part of the normal business deliver cycle (my mom works for them). Otherwise, FedEx packages that were sent Friday are delivered on the next BUSINESS DAY. Which is Monday. And usually by late afternoon if it isn’t scheduled for first delivery (which is extra).

Come on students, time to show boarding schools that you can think through this logically and not interrupt a business’s workflow looking for a package that may or may not be coming.
