I know Andover sends acceptances in FedEx, at least mine was, what about rejections/waitlist?

Does that just come in regular?

I know Andover sends acceptances in FedEx, at least mine was, what about rejections/waitlist?

Does that just come in regular?

I'm curious as well. hmm....

Alright, so this is what I'm beginning to realize... and I'm about 94% sure it's a correct assumption.

It seems as if ANDOVER ACCEPTANCES were all received today by FEDEX regardless of location,
while ANDOVER REJECTIONS/WAITLISTS were all delivered by regular USPS mail, and so depending on location, could be received anywhere from today to friday.

simply put, if you did not receive anything from andover today, expected a waitlist/rejection in the following days to come.

Why this makes sense?

All Acceptances were FEDEX (100% at least for CC members).
All Acceptances received today were from members all over the place (not necessarily near Andover) ex. California
All Waitlists/Rejections were REGULAR USPS mail (100% at least for CC members)
ALL Waitlists/Rejections received today were from members who lived pretty close to the town of Andover (therefore further supporting the REGULAR mail/non FEDEX assumption)

Sound good to you all?

Yeah. Mine were FedEx, except I'm not sure about Northern California people. All the California people who got letters were from Southern California.

Ny niece in NorCal was accepted via Fedex today.

Yep, I agree with that assumption. I do think it's odd, though, that so few CC'ers who were stateside got acceptances from Andover. I've only seen five, maybe? And I haven't heard of anyone east of the Mississippi getting one (except for Kent, who is in MO and could be on either side). I am operating on that same assumption, tho, dclaxer. Son has already told his friends he'll be here for school next year which, fortunately for us, isn't a terrible option.

So there are two CA Andover acceptances on another thread, so I think Andover acceptances are done.

i hope not.

right?

I find it odd as well that so few on the east coast received Andover acceptances.

It seemed as if a majority were Cali kids and Internationals... which to me gets me thinking some more...

Perhaps California kids all seemed to receive acceptances today because of their far distance and so their packages were sent separately from east coast packages?

And how would Andover be able to so accurately orchestrate the receiving of Acceptance packages by FEDEX all on a SINGLE specific day? it seems a little bit TOO weird.

Where are all the NY Acceptances to Andover?????????

yeah any NJ ones? i didnt hear of any except mass ones and cali / internatoinal

On the label it says that it was shipped 9 March 09. Or it COULD be 3 March 09. The label is half cut off though. It was FedEx Express. Hope that helps?

Okay, I tracked it on FedEx and it says:

Mar 9, 2009 11:52 AMShipment information sent to FedEx
Mar 9, 2009 5:53 PMPicked upWILMINGTON, MA
Mar 9, 2009 9:41 PMLeft FedEx origin facilityWILMINGTON, MA
Mar 10, 2009 12:36 AMArrived at FedEx locationMEMPHIS, TN
Mar 10, 2009 7:28 AMAt local FedEx facility______, CA
Mar 10, 2009 8:06 AMOn FedEx vehicle for delivery, CA
Mar 10, 2009 10:02 AMDelivered___CA

I don't know, guys. I tend to be a rather optimistic individual. However, I think that the purpose of FedEx is to be able to orchestrate overnight delivery...anywhere. The low number of acceptances is puzzling, but it's probably just that there weren't very many CC'ers accepted. Seems strange, but I think that's the case. Lots of people apply without ever having heard of CC. (we did.)

yeah but it is easy to ship to cali and locally. the places in the middle, like ny and nj. need cars and stuff. longer

alright bro, that info. is really helpful and really encouraging.

so what i'm thinking now is that Andover sent out acceptances to applicants on the West coast and Midwest a day early (Monday), whereas for applicants on the east coast (MA or NY), acceptances were sent out the day of (Tuesday).... which explains why a few MA kids received acceptances this afternoon and NO New Yorkers have received their packages yet.

Which means (hopefully) that acceptances are expected for EAST coasters tomorrow.

Hopefully?

Lol that sounds ridiculous man...sorry. Is andover your last shot?

Dude, I'm not a dude. :P

That makes a lot of sense, I seriously doubt it's a coincidence.

hopefully. :]

to happykidsmom, I wouldn't give up hope JUST yet.

first off, your location would be important...
second, there is NO way that not a SINGLE applicant from NY or NJ got into Andover this year (whether he/she knows of CC or not doesn't matter).
there has to be at LEAST one CC-er who resides in NY/NJ who got in...

if i'm wrong than wow....

and third, it makes sense that Andover would mail our acceptances to westcoasters a day earlier (or earlier period) since it would obviously take a much longer amount of time, traveling wise, to Cali versus NY.

and from this we can conclude (quite reasonably in fact) that Cali packages and NY packages were sent in DIFFERENT batches (key fact).

which means if Cali kids are receiving packages anywhere from Noon to Early Evening, East coast kids who had their packages sent a day later should respect them that day (if in MA) or the NEXT day (Wed.) if in NY, NJ, or more south.

rightt?

I like the logic. It makes me feel loads better =]
