Anyone get acceptance letter but no emails?

Has anyone received the acceptance packet via USPS that did not receive any travel or acceptance emails from NYU?

Also, has anyone been rejected yet that applied RD? If so, how were you rejected (email, mail)?

I would like to know this too…

Me too, for a friend.

This doesn’t look good…

Bump

10chars

If at least one person has/does it would give me so much hope! Haha or maybe one of us will be first!

Just called NYU’s admission office…

“If I have not received an acceptance email yet, does that mean I’m rejected?” -me

“No, not at all” -NYU

“Do you know anything else about that situation?” -me

“Yeah sure. Basically, acceptence emails were sent to a group of select students, and definitely not everyone who was accepted. It also depends on the program you applied to.”

So who knows…

my friend received an acceptance packet and apparently did not receive the travel email.

Thank the lord…

as i posted in another thread:

as for the “DIDN’T GET THE EMIAL —> rejection ??” questions:
i posted on another forum about possible scenarios for this

I’m betting that it was a combo of these three things:

1) them using this year to test sending out notifications via email versus postal mail (as in they are considering switching to email notification next year)

2) They wanted to get the word out to certain applicants of certain schools (i.e. Stern)

3) They sent out early notification to any of the following: scholarship recipients, highly-qualified applicants they want to steer away from other competing schools (i.e Hopkins, Berkley, Illinois), and/or other applicants with special qualities courted by NYU.

basically, if you didn’t get the email, don’t worry about it - in my opinion.

haha @jrose… i actually loled when i read ur post bc i had just said the exact same thing…im actually becoming incapable of focusing on anything else aside from hearing back from NYU!!! cant they let me know already?!?

Seriously… I applied to Gallatin and would like to know either way so I can just get on with my Senior year…

@chorapanese: what you suggested is exactly what I have been thinking.

omg i’m getting so much hope right now
but then i don’t want to end up crying when i receive a thin envelope

my dd waiting too
also panicking --her bff accepted usps
bff stats:
urm, 4.8 gpa, varsity cheer 4y, nationally acclaimed cheer team
also acceptd usc stanford ucla
suspect NYU “courting” her for her stats etc…is why she rec’d early notice …

don’t fret
pray and hope
