Anyone get anything after paying deposit??

I payed my deposit mid-April and haven't received anything yet. Have you guys gotten housing, forms, etc. from Rice?

I'm glad you posted this. My son paid his online deposit almost 2 weeks ago, and has had nothing yet. He printed out his payment confirmation, but he hasn't received any kind of e-mail confirmation or mailing. I was wondering the same thing.

I don't think the housing packet comes out for a while, but a welcome to Rice e-mail would have been nice (and would confirm that they know he's decided to enroll).

I called and they said they do not send any acknowledgement and would not be sending out the housing forms until June. I agree a "welcome to Rice" would have been nice.

Thanks for the info, ricemom!

If you login and look under "admission requirements" it should say something like:
Admission Status: Deposit Received

:]

Waiting is hard -but all the forms etc will be coming. It is just such a "news blackout" shock, after all the tons of mail that we had been getting from all the colleges.

I agree with the above posters, it is a bit disappointing and confusing.

And anticlimactic. I was all giddy and excited as I typed in the payment information, then pressed SUBMIT, and...

nothing. A simple "Congratulations! You're a Rice Owl!" would have been nice.

If you want to feel that excitement, you might want to go to oweek.rice.edu and start seeing articles and info about your transition to college! Although you don't know your college yet, you can start to read about the process. It will be updated as time goes by, but even now there are some articles up that will give you that warm fuzzy feeling :-). Congrats to all who will be attending. My son, now going to be a junior still feels it was the best choice he ever made.

how about the health forms? they aren't due till we get everything in june right?

Well either there was a little delay before getting the "Welcome to Rice" e-mail or they acted in response to this post, but my son received an e-mail from them today:

Dear XXXXX,

I am pleased to confirm that your enrollment deposit has been received and a space has been reserved for you in Rice's Class of 2011. We are so excited that you accepted our offer admission and we look forward to welcoming you to campus in August.

Yay! I got the email too!

Better late than never...

We go the email, too. DD was definitely excited. However, the calendar they attached was for 2008. Clerical error I suppose.
