anyone get off waitlist yet?

if anyone gets off the waitlist, please post here

our son got off the waitless on friday, june 4, 2010. his heart was set on dartmouth but visited princeton and was swayed there. he is now part of princeton triangle club, outdoor action leader, any many, many more,… in this case, good things came to those who wait! best of luck to all. don’t dismay, there is time!

It looks like last year the first people heard on May 5, with different waves of acceptances coming after that. Fingers crossed! :)

Where are y’all currently committed to?

Hopkins for me. I’m also on the waitlists at Harvard, Penn, and Brown. Waiting sucks.

Committed to Brown.

It’s otherwise Georgetown SFS for me! Also on the waitlists for Harvard and Stanford as well.

They’re all excellent schools. :)

Looks like things for the Harvard waitlist aren’t looking too good… Perhaps this could be promising for the Princeton yield?

hey did anyone send an email to princeton? if so, was it the main admissions office email or what?

Also, Tesella, based on 2008 waitlist data, i think there is a direct relationship rather than inverse relationship between waitlist acceptances at harvard and princeton.

in 2008, over 200 people were admitted off harvard’s waitlist
in 2008, by may 12 over 86 people were admitted off princeton waitlist. (I’m not sure what the total was, but it was probably also very high).

Can someone post waitlist acceptance numbers by year for both schools, so we can be sure of the relationship?

Can anyone outline the logic as to why a fixed relationship should exist between the two?

There’s no relationship, just coincidental.

I think (s)he was trying to make the point that many people get into both H and P, so if H took a lot of cross-admits, P may have more spaces.

Good luck, everyone!!

can someone please contact princeton admissions to see how many people they expect to take? or ask their counselor to do so?

or maybe someone has already asked…?

@redbluegreen
maybe it is coincidental, but there is also a possibility of a relationship. if we have some simple data, we may have emperical support for a relationship

Has anyone else been given any news from their counselor?
Mine just keeps telling me that the IVY waitlists are long shots!! As if we all did not know that already :(

Has anyone heard anything from Princeton re waitlist? I wonder if Harvard and Penn have started notifying anyone on their waitlists?

Yale and Princeton have been quiet about their respective yields… wonder what’s happening.

has anyone contacted the admissions office?

The last time I called (a few days ago), they weren’t sure whether they’d use the wait list or not.
