Anyone going to Sophie Davis?

Hey guys, im going to sophie next year and was wondering if anyone else on CC is going? I couldn't find any threads on it so i decided to post a new one. Also...can you mention if you're going to attend the summer transition program? cheers:)

*I found an old post, lets start a new one cuz that one was small

u got into sophie davis- omg i wanna go there
what are your stats?

my stats...man i guess no one is going there but me ;(

1450 SATs 690 iic; 690 chem; 720 writing (though i think they don't matter)
ACT--took it with CCNY (they don't tell you score)

main thing is to believe in the need for a diverse group of doctors for the diverse "melting pot" of the US/nyc
also be passionate (i also hate this word) in the true sense

i did some research programs (being in Long Island and all)
i didn't win anything, but i entered quite a few competitions
i was in a diversity club (Ambassadors' Club)
played some tennis and like to work out

i was incredibly surprised i got in there, though i'm loving every minute of it

wish you luck scorpio...also thanks for the "bumP" maybe someone who went/is going will answer

I am "went" there. lol
Congratulations, Eclipsed! :-)

i was just wondering sar, do you have a schedule like most other college students classes then a break and classes/classes at night?
oh and thanks :D

where did u do research?

hmm, not sure what you mean, Eclipsed. But our schedule is, for the most part, similar to that of the CCNY students'. I don't think any of the SD classes are night classes though.

Sometimes we have to come in for extra weeks, so we might start earlier or end later in the semester.

what is sophie davis

med.cuny.edu (hopefully we'll have a better one up soon, made by students)

i heard that program is designed for minority students that otherwise might not become doctors b/c they either do not have the resources or funding to become doctors later on.

no the program is for students who willing to help in underserved communities

Doesn't that program make you work in a city clinic in a poor neighborhood for a couple of years (after you graduate)?

for sophie davis do you have to take the ACT's??????????

i really wanna go there!

ahem
http://med.cuny.edu

is it true that Sophie Davis might be getting dorms

thanx sar...does it matter whether you take the ACT with writing or without writing?????????

sar, im sorry to report i won't be attending SD because i didnt send in the Service Agreement by may 1st...i know..so irresponsible, anyways, stonybrook looks pretty good compared to the other rollings admission community colleges, so off i am to SBU, too bad i wont get to see a person who "am/went" there

SD getting dorms? where did you hear that? well, I would say take the writing ACT because that is what i took when i took it at CCNY--i would presume the ACT we took there was the ACT they wanted us to take

okay thanx....one last question, the new sat has a writing section...so would that mean take the act writing section or no...

and wat do u think is a good sat score (on the new sat) for sophie davis

Dorms: in CCNY. I don't how the rooms will be distributed among the students, but SD will have a share in some way. http://www2.ccny.cuny.edu/gb_information.cfm

I don't know about the current testing situation.
