Anyone got questions

I went on a tour of ND this past week and loved it. They had us fill out a form that included our name, address, email address, extracurricular activities etc. My question is do you think they track this information and the fact that you visited the school once you apply?

I don’t believe so - they might throw it in a file that they create for every applicant but the main reason behind the card is so they can send you all the publications that they start to make. I wouldn’t worry if you spelled something wrong or if you put something on there that you would not put on your resume. I honestly think that they just use it for mailing purposes. Trust me, ND has enough paperwork to go through that it doesn’t need more!

“OMG DORM ROOMS ARE OUT I’M IN ___________”

sorry just imitating all the freshmen out there. just kidding - just a joke, but seriously the dorm assignments are out — so everyone ask away!

Ok, you asked for this… My daughter is in Breen Phillips…Pros and Cons please? Can she loft her bed? How do you loft a bed? Is it better to have just one roomate? THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Pros - Generally next to classrooms
- next to LaFortune and you are not isolated like other dorms on campus and next to a dining hall
- next to the library
Cons - no A/C
- on North Quad and North Dining Hall (but I only say this b/c I am on South so that is kind of subjective.
- a little old (but I live in Alumni and that is older)

she cannot loft her bed as there is no modular furniture (or at least that is what the ResLife website says).

75% of BP is doubles so she will be in the majority with one roommate - it usually always works out ok - i had one roommate and i worked out fine. yes, more roommates means it is more likely to have someone you like, but it usually works out

35% are freshmen so that means there will be a lot of freshmen which is a good thing

if you want more just ask … that is a general outlook

How did your daughter find out? Did everyone hear today?

Notre Dame sent an email out today and the are online.

MImama-I didn’t get an email, but the assignments are up on the Home Under the Dome link on insidend!

hawk: any thoughts on Farley, or 2-room quads? :)

OMG is right! BUT… DD did not receive an email about housing. She cannot figure out where to find the dorm assignment online. Can you help Hawkswim?

EastCoastMom: I actually have the freshman stuff pulled up on my computer right now. Here’s how to find everything:

Log onto insidend

Click the “Student Life” tab

Click the “Home Under the Dome” link

Log into Home Under the Dome

Click “View Assignment/Roommates”. Your roommates are listed. Under the room info, there’s a section that says “bed space”. Under that is a code made up of letters (dorm code) and numbers (your room #). On that same page, there’s a link to a list which will help you decode those letters to find out what dorm you’re in :)

Farley is very similar to BP - all the sam Pro/Cons exist - I have several friends in Farley and they like it.

I haven’t heard of 2 room quads very much but it will be like having a double I imagine -but you will be able to hang out with two other girls as well.

Farley is also not as dominated by doubles either - a lot more triples and other arrangements it looks like.

still 35% freshmen but there is modular furniture in some rooms

also if you stick around long enough and get lucky some rooms have private baths lol

if you have any particular questions, be sure to ask.

THANK YOU Rose!

Also in Breen-Phillips. Now time to read all about the Babes…

sorry - your message did not appear on my board until just now sorry and good job Rose haha

What about Keenan?

I’m going to Alumni Hall. Room code is 244/46i, and the 4 bed spaces are 244a 244b 246a 246b. Does that mean it’s a 4-person suite, with 2 bedrooms and 1 common rooms ?

Any other thought please :D

Thanks for filling me in hawk! :)

Zahm House. House! House! House!

I’m in Duncan. Pros and cons??

So quickly and then I will add some more stuff later: Kennan - just got a 5 million dollar renovation and is rivals with its attached dorm Stanford and I believe no A/C but it is north quad as well — alumni is the best dorm on campus hands down and our rector FGR is the man…you are the luckiest of them all…south quad and yes that room set-up is great for a freshman ---- Duncan - you are the second luckiest cuz that is a brand new dorm with al the amenities and the rooms are bigger and there is A/C … it is on the far end of west quad tho so it is a little bit of a walk to get to classes and else where tho
