Anyone got some financial aid/scholarship(s)?

I'm up for some scholarships, but I haven't heard anything back yet...it's supposed to be sometime this week.

I got an email saying that my financial aid award is available on the website, but on the website it says my application is still being reviewed. I checked and it says my app is complete, so I don't need to so verification forms or anything. Has this happened to anyone else?

On the web, it said that my application was complete, but on the phone they told me it was not.

why would anyone complain about instate tuition, for 10 Grand a year thats a damn good deal, for a top quality education.

"On the web, it said that my application was complete, but on the phone they told me it was not."

hey newjerseymom i have the same problem. i called today after receiving an email saying my stuff was complete and verified and that i should check my myunc page but on the phone, some guy told me my stuff was incomplete

Markpterson - Did they tell you what was missing? For me, I had to complete the verification forms and submit signed tax returns. If they didn't tell you, make sure you call first thing tomorrow morning so that you can get the missing items in ASAP.

yeah something about household info. i wonder what caused the mistake

my financial aid was up yesterday, but now it says it's pending. What happened?

whats going on UNC!?

im going to pay a visit to the Financial Aid and scholarships office tomorrow.

idk, it could be good or bad. Maybe they've decided to give me more money. :)

or...they could take away some of my money....

How do you access this information? I haven't received an email about this.

Messages Fall Spring Total
FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN 1,490 1,490 2,980
FEDERAL WORK-STUDY EMPL 1,350 1,350 2,700
Total 2,840 2,840 5,680

i guess i cant really complain, especially cuz im IS. however my mom just lost a job she has had for 12 years. she lost it on feb, 29 2008 and we lose about 15,000 a year from that, and we just moved. should i call the Financial Aid office and tell them of my new situation? i probably should have done it before....dumb me.

so you're able to view your financial aid?

what the heck, why did my award get put up but then taken away again...

doughwato04 - definitely call financial aid office and report your mom's job. It couldn't hurt. Good luck - hope she finds a new one soon.

markpeterson "hey newjerseymom i have the same problem. i called today after receiving an email saying my stuff was complete and verified and that i should check my myunc page but on the phone, some guy told me my stuff was incomplete"

I'm in a similar situation but the man told me that it probably shouldn't affect the aid you receive. I hope they get our info back soon because my decision rests on how much aid they give.

I went to financial office and they were quite helpful and amiable.
My package (unofficial):
$16,000 almost $17,000 of scholarships/grants.
and $1050 of subsidized Stafford loan.
The rest is EFC (family contribution).
I am very glad and happy that they met my financial need all the way(100%).
PLUS, i went to undergraduate admissions and they gave a quick review on my transcript and they will accept 35 dual enrollment credits and will accept some APs. This will save me a year at UNC and would save a year of tuition!
Now I have a couple of numbers I can call about instate residency for tuition.
So, it was a great, productive trip!

but will it affect how quickly we will receive aid?

alright i got 3,500 per year. not a lot meaning i'm going to need more. but i am in state

markpterson, how did you find that out? website? calling?
