Anyone Hear Admission Decision From CMU Acting or MT?

I was wondering if anyone knows if the calls have starting going out yet? I know last year they started going out at about this time

I don’t think anyone has been notified yet. On the 14th of last year Acting students were called. I don’t know if that will be the same this year. I doubt it, though.

I called the admissions department today and they were very specific and said that “decisions for the musical theatre department will start to be sent out on March 24.” They want on to say that the bulk will go out on that day and then they will continue to send them out over the following day(s) until they are all out. So it looks like at least 10 more days before anyone will hear from CMU.

Does anyone know if in the past CMU has called those Accepted or is it all done by snail mail?

Based on last years threads it looks like phone calls are made prior to the letters being received… Calls started around the 15th. So I would think someone’s phone will be ringing in the next few days. Best of luck!

In the past, those accepted were called before most others got their notifications via snail mail. The snail mails are in late March. Be aware that those who make a very short Priority Waitlist get those by snail mail (my kid got that in her year). I don’t know anyone who got a call yet but as so few get accepted, it may be word of mouth to find that out.

Does anyone know when the acting applicants will be notified? are they on march 24th as well?

Back in 2009 my D got her phone call (for MT) on March 15th - a Sunday.

We are in serious “nail-biting” mode in our house waiting to hear…

Ditto that!

Nothing has been sent out yet have no fear!

I am planning a campus visit and emailed a change yesterday and they told me they were in the middle of admissions for a record number of applications and would get back to me in about 3 days-so I’m sure you will hear soon! Good Luck to all!

A friends’ dad told me that he called admissions and they said they wouldn’t be notifying anyone by any means until March 24th.

So I am assuming that calls will go out 10 days later than they did last year?

Anyone have any more insight???

I have no inside information but your friend’s dad’s call was to the ADMISSIONS office and THEY won’t be notifying anyone via online status, email or snail mail before March 24, that’s true. However, that is really not the same as (or the same office as) the Drama program whose head does call accepted students PRIOR to any of the official acceptances roll out of the admissions office. My bets are that calls from the drama dept. to accepted students will, as in years past, come out prior to the official notifications in writing from the admissions office that are after March 24. Thus, I predict calls to the admitted students will be within the next week.

I heard that last year they called on St. Patrick’s Day!

Not last year - 3 years ago :)

Only you would know that CoachC. haha!

lol - I just remember hearing news of students in the midst of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. There was a lot of celebrating that day, of all types! :)

Acting calls will come as early as this weekend…MT calls not certain. All calls will be made by the 24th when letters are sent.

How do you know that?

They don’t they’re just hypothesizing based on prior years and what the admissions people said
