I read this on an old thread-- I’m super excited, but I’m not trying to get my hopes up too much…this is from BingAmbassador:

"Please, DO NOT attempt to discover your Admissions decision via a “backdoor” method. Until you receive an official notification via U.S. Mail, NO DECISION IS OFFICIAL. Until you are notified, it is completely within Admissions’ right to change their minds as it is still an internal decision. I am not confirming/denying whether the ability to pay a deposit means anything, as I am not in a position to officially comment on that.

Admissions decisions are generally sent via U.S. Mail, and you may receive your decision after April 1st – keep in mind that decisions mailed on the first will not reach your mailbox on that date.

Good luck to all of you, and I highly recommend that you wait until you receive notification via U.S. Mail. I understand that this is a very anxious time for all of you (trust me, I was there a little over a year ago), but you’ll do yourselves well to just patiently wait.

In the event you receive an acceptance envelope, it will be blatantly obvious that Binghamton wants you."

So I guess we will just wait and see. Good luck to everyone and I really hope to meet many of you next year at Bing!!! :D

I was able to login to the “Pay your Deposit” page but it sayd I could pay for Harpur even though I really applied for bioengineering? So was I rejected to the Watson Engineering School and accepted to Harpur instead? I’m confused…please help!

That’s the problem with relying on a back door notification method like Pay Your Deposit. The information given is incomplete for those who are able to log in, and for those who aren’t, that inability is confusing and could cause someone to decide to accept admission at another school they prefer less, out of belief that Binghamton has rejected them. So, @warmmilk, in your case, just a guess but I’d say assume you got in to BU, but sit tight until getting further clarification on which school, via official notiifcation.

Accepted to School of Management!!! Anyone else see that it said that they accepted 2,000 out of 30,000?? How does that make sense? That means that they accepted less than 10%?

Josh, that number is an estimate that is a tad misleading. 2,000 students will ENROLL as students, much more were accepted. I think the acceptance rate for all students is in the 33-40% range; 10% of all applicants will enroll and that is the number you’re seeing. They explained that at an information session I attended on campus.

My daughter, who forgot her password and couldn’t log in, received her snail mail oos acceptance today, 1-20, which means the decision had been made at least a few days ago.

i have been admitted to binghamton(SOM) on Jan 17,2012.
On the same day, i got another offered from stony brook university.
I dont know which one i should choose…

Finally received letter today: ACCEPTED! I called earlier in the week and they said they were still reviewing applications through the end of this week.

^^^^^^
I hope I will be as lucky as you! I still haven’t received anything. I sent an email to ask what happened yesterday and today I received nothing but an email about how green Bing was…=.=

Nope no change to the online status checker. And for the person who posted above about Stony brook: go to Binghamton! Their business school is ranked 36th in the country, Stony Brook isn’t even ranked!

My son heard yesterday. He is in. (Early admission) The envelope said something like you are the one we want. Soooooooo, proud of him. He has worked hard at his studies for a long time. This is a greatttttt payoff.
