<p>The email my son received said that semi's would hear in Jan. 2005, and finalists in FEb. 2005.</p>
<p>No I haven't; I was also told that it'd be sometime in Jan. I know I won't get the grand prize, but I hope I at least the the digital camera. hm.</p>

<p>At first I figured that there wouldn't be <em>too</em> many entries b/c people wouldn't want to write essays. But then again, one of the prizes is an appearance on American Dreams, and that would probably draw many people in.
Yeah, in the email and on the front page of the website, they say that winners will be announced in January; under the Official Rules section they say on or about 12/30/04. Maybe semifinalists are notified BEFORE they are publicly announced? Hopefully not, b/c I didn't get anything yet either.</p>

<p>they are supposedly going to announce the winner of the semifinalist grouping (to clarify- the grand winner from the selected group of semifinalist) in the show itself in an episode sometime in february. i did a news.google.com search and an article came up describing the process</p>

<p>I think there's plenty of hope. It may be a popular contest, but that doesn't mean that all the entries are good. I bet probably most of the people on cc who entered will get in semis.</p>

<p>lol, wouldn't that be interesting! I hope mine got in. My teacher made our whole class do it and then said that she would mail them in. We all used the same can code though. Will that disqualify us?</p>
