Congrats, Tymel! I guess you should try to visit each one (or visit again) before you make a decision. My daughter got into Albany and Oneonta and prefers Albany because she thinks there will be more to do on weekends and it is an hour closer to NYC.

northeastmom, the above link might help to answer some of your questions about Oneonta.

nysmile, thanks, that was very handy and just what I was looking for!

congrats everyone!!!

i havent decided if i want to go there yet, but having such a good school at such a good price as my back up definately makes all my desicions easier!! lol

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty stoked. SUNY Oneonta is like one of the only schools that accepted me that I could be myself being 100% happy and going. I can't think of one bad thing about it. =]

They lost my SAT scores, so I had to resend them last week, and yesterday I went online to make sure they got them and the deposit link was gone...does this mean I didn't get it? (it never worked or anything)

Take, my daughter's page did exactly that...the deposit link went away, then it came back and when you click it said accepted. Hope that's your deal!!!

Thanks Muffy, and I got in today!!! I'm so excited lol I'm visiting next week =]

Congratulations Take!

Hi everyone, my daughter ONLY wants to go to Oneonta...we were accepted to Elmira, Wells,Plattsburgh,Oswego and Cortland...with super nice scholarships from Elmira and Wells...her GPA is 4.0 but unfortunately her SAT'S were just under 1000 (out of 1600), we are still waiting from Oneonta, we did Early Action...then they put her in the regular pool...I'm frantic here....HELP!

Jazzy, we are OOS, so my son is not influenced by his hs peers about the NY schools. I have heard fabulous things about Plattsburgh and Cortland too. I would feel fine sending my kiddo to those if we were instate. I have a relative who is an Oswego grad and he has done well. My son liked Elmira too, but they don't have that high of a retention rate (guess it is similar to Hartwick's and that is another nice LAC).

Hi Northeast...we are New Yorkers and live about 2 hours from Oneonta, she just had her heart set on this one, we encouraged her to do more apps, can they really deny her? Would they? She does a ton of extra curriculars, many honor clubs, I'm just dumbfounded that she hasn't heard yet. Thank you for the input, we are driving up to Cortland in the morning and have a tour on Thursday,As far as Plattsburgh, we have family there and she was accepted to the 5 year masters for teachers, it's just the distance from home that bothers her....thanks,we're keeping our fingers crossed

I have no idea as to how competitive they are right now since we are OOS (that might be a reason for us not to have him apply, but we did like the school a lot). I sent a PM to you.

I can't believe they would turn down a 4.0, no matter what the SATs are. Did she try calling the admissions office and asking if there is anything she can do to get in? I've heard some of the SUNYs actually deny but will accept the next month if the ACT/SAT is taken over. Cortland is very similar and a lot closer to other college towns if that's a plus.
