Well the rate at which appeals are granted is very low so maybe there isn't anyone on CC who has gotten accepted yet. Hopefully your appeal appeal will work out satchelpaige20. Good luck!

they just put up the notice saying they received my appeal and are reviewing it today.

I hate to break it to you blinktwice, but they aren't reviewing your appeal today. I've had that message for over a month and still have not received a decision haha. I'm not sure what they are doing though, because a bunch of people have heard that submitted theirs weeks after me.

How long did it take until it changed online and said that they received your appeal? Because mine still has my rejection letter.

took me about a week and a half. damn i wish i get something before 5/1. i sent it in 3/31

took a lil more than 2 wks for my status to change to "in review". sent on april 1st, account updated on 4/17...pretty long time..i prob wont hear until after may 1st. I recommend looking at other options and SIRing to another UC. thats what im doing

hmm i submitted my appeal about a month ago, yet i never received a confirmation of them receiving my appeal. so about 2 weeks after sending it, i gave a call to the admit office asking them about my status since i had friends that got their recipt and i didn't. at the time, the woman said that my status was fine and told me to relax.

today i called (a little over a month since i sent in my appeal) the admit office asking them what happened. turns out THEY NEVER RECEIVED my appeal at all and told me to send it again. as if they're going to get it done in time!

i'm so frustrated with the UC system. looks like it's the university of washington for me!

The due date wasn't too long ago for appeals and I am sure they want to see all appeals come in before they make any decisions, so even if they had your appeal, you wouldn't find out before May 1 anyway. Just make your deposit at UW and if you get accepted through your appeal, you forfeit the deposit. Good Luck.

I found out my UCB appeal didnt work a few days ago. I sent both ucla and ucb appeal on the same day, i wonder why ucla is dropping the ball..

Both were sent 3/31

Yeah it took 1 month and 2 days for me to get a decision on my UCLA appeal.

Has anyone heard lately? More importantly, has anyone actually gotten in? This Friday will be week 6! They told me 3 weeks, at the end of 3 weeks it was another week, at the end of that week, it was another week, and at the end of that week it was May 1st. I'm getting impatient, I've been delaying sending my SIR hoping I'd get a final decision, but I don't know how much I can trust their new May 1st deadline.

maybe it's a good thing you still haven't heard back yet dodgerblue. You sent in your appeal early and it's still in review...so you've probably passed first or second admission officers. If you think about it, people who have sent in around your time got rejected already. Taking forever to hear back for appeal is good, IMO. After all, all we got to lose is our SIR deposit.

UCLA left a message on my machine:"hi, this is kevin from ucla undergrad admit office, call me back tomorrow morning, i get in at 8:30"

good? bad? ***?

WOah that sounds awesome, i want a message like that. I dont think they ask rejectee's to call in if you catch my drift. when did you send in?

sent march 10th...here's my feeling. i figure it can't be a bad thing, as you said, cause they sure don't call to personalize a rejection. that being said, i doubt it's an acceptance either, that too seems kinda weird. i bet its just to clarify something, but man am i nervous...

It is good you get to talk to them though. You may be able to improve your chances, because hearing about a hardship, or mistake from the person can be a lot more influential than just reading it on paper. Good luck, let us know how it goes.

you got it...i'll post as soon as the phone call is over! (i'm that nerdy)

His name is Kevin Poff,Assistant to the Director of undergraduate admissions. That's pretty awesome to have someone like that call you. They must really be thinking about you.

dodgerblue: you should call Admissions, your appeal has been in review for a really long time and it is close to the deadline for SIRS. I can't think of a reason it would hurt your chances at this point to make the call. if you want i will get you a number to call them and pm it to you
