@cestmavie, didnt get accepted yet? je viens de France mais je suis aux Etats Unis depuis quelques annees… haha.
living on campus is great! you get to meet people and live the “college experience”

@naixn: pas encore! ): Oh bon alors! Tu as quel age?
Je souhaite pouvoir vivre au campus. Tu etais accepte deja?

I got my first D last semester… in my 4 years in high school I have never got lower than a B. AND it was in math… I never blame the teacher, but this time it was the teacher. He hated me, I hated him, it worked out for the worst. Oh and i forgot to mention that he doesnt know how to teach whatsoever, hes been at the school for so long that the school wont fire him

CPP doesnt know about it (I tried calling them in winter break and i told them i got a D an they said dont worry about it just take it next semester and pass but you guys are saying other stuff might happen), and I did get a provisional admit… so does this mean I will get rejected? I had a 3.77 before the D and now its like 3.7. thanks for any help

hey I just found out something!

This is what provisional admit means

Provisional Admit

You have been admitted to the university based on the information you submitted. You will receive a final admission decision upon receipt of the documents needed to complete your file.

The place that confused me was this:

Are there conditions of an admissions offer?
YES! Unless you already graduated from high school prior to applying, all offers of admission will be “provisional”. Specific terms of a provisional admission are contained in letters and the official notice of admission. Generally, if you are offered provisional admission, you must:
 Verify high school graduation with a final 8th semester high school transcript;
 Complete all courses in your senior year with grades of “C” or higher;
 Successfully complete all courses to meet the full CSU 15-unit subject pattern;
 Supply all required documents by the established deadlines. and
 Meet CSU minimum eligibility index

After we receive your final documents, your “provisional” admission will be reviewed and your admission confirmed. If you have not maintained eligibility, your offer of admission will be rescinded. See the admissions requirements for first-time freshmen.

But i found out that that criteria is for people who do not live in the local area (I do). Hopefully I am interpreting this correctly. Guys correct me if I am wrong.

@Banana-Boi

Where do you live?

Re: waitlisted students - my daughter was waitlisted for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The letter she received from them stated that she would be notified by May 15. This means she may have to wait until AFTER the deadline for accepted students to accept/decline their admission before she finds out.
Since she was accepted to Pomona, she will have to SIR there by May 1, then if she does get accepted to SLO and decides to go there, we’ll have to decline Pomona (and lose whatever deposit we may have made). That will open up a space for a waitlisted student.

I expect Pomona’s waitlist will have to be similar - they can’t know if there will be openings until after May 1. A screwball system - but what can you do?

banana boi, if you’re a transfer student, the local area’s Mt Sac and Citrus College. If you’re a frosh, then Azusa, Duarte, Monrovia USD etc are local area districts.

futbol, it means you’re in but they’re going to monitor your progress. The final transcripts is like proof that you met their expectations. But overall, you’re in the clear, you’ve been admitted, congratualations.

Eh, I got “Eligible for Consideration”, I see it as a nice and fancy way of saying that I’m waitlisted. Im soooo not excited no more…=/ lol

My son is “eligible for consideration” at CPP (his #1 choice in CA). He was refused admission to SDSU because only 6K spots to fill from 61K apps, refused by San Jose because too many apps for major, CSUF unknown, CSULB unknown, Chico unknown. He was accepted at two out of state colleges in February (they both need answers by May 1st), but…from CPP website…:

When will I be notified of my admission status?
For students from Cal Poly Pomona’s local area, most offers of admission will be sent November through December. Students who are required to submit 7th semester transcripts will be notified at a later date.

For students outside of Cal Poly Pomona’s local area, offers of admission will be sent beginning early March. Notification to waiting list applicants will be sent during June and July.

Oh alright thanks azusa

Daughter was accepted a month and a half ago - Animal Science - out of area.

It sounds like they’ve increased the percentage of students living on campus. Anyone know about this? And do they house students by major? Thanks!

@gotaplay2, yes they are requiring all students who do not live within the local area to dorm at the school

And idk about whether or not its by major, but I doubt it.

@gotaplay2, no not by major. plus there’s not a lot of space for housing anyway.
