Anyone heard from Cal Poly Pomona yet?

My daughter got admitted to architecture and received a snail mail letter about two days later.

We paid the ECD at CPP yesterday on campus at the Admissions office. I don’t think they’re set up to do it online yet. We also paid the housing deposit, but we did do that online. It was such a beautiful day in Pomona yesterday! We went to the Farm Store and bought some oranges grown there and we got the cutest plants to bring home. I love the tshirts they had too! They said things like, “There are 2 Cal Poly’s. Pomona and the other one.” ha ha. And “I’m not SLO, I go to Pomona”. I love it.

I just got an email from CPP saying that I have to send in copies of my tax forms, and a financial aid application they want me to fill out and sign. Even though I am still on the wait list, I think im going to go ahead and send the documents that they asked, because I think that will show them that I am interested in attending the university and I guess they can prioritize me a little.

@blackmamba2410: I got in for Urban/Regional Planning in their environmental college. I heard that CSUs were accepting people earlier for those who live closer to their schools, like my friend who got their acceptance to CPP in October 09 for aerospace eng (lucky hehe). I live around Diamond Bar/Chino Hills, so I guess that’s why they admitted earlier idk.

blackmamba2410, i did. My transcripts were all received by February 5th. So since Feb 5th, my application has been available and ready for review.

this is getting the point of ridiculousness that i don’t care anymore if i get in, i just want an answer. I don’t understand why if I was in time with my transcripts, in fact over a month early, why I am still not being reviewed. I am wondering if how well everything is being managed cause again I am transferring from tier one schools ( I attend both of their tier one community colleges) into a nonimpacted major

@piyo2388
i dont think that’s necessarily true. I literally live 4 miles from cal poly pomona and my app still hasn’t been reviewed even though it has been ready since early feb. I was told tier one schools (mt sac and citrus) transfers got first pick but im hearing a lot of other transfers from neither of those schools hearing back already.

@JL2688, i’m with you on this one. this is getting ridiculous. i’m to the point where i just want to know “yes” or “no.” i’ve been checking everyday, and nothing has changed. its always “Eligible for Consideration”

^ On their Facebook page, CPP says that admissions are still being released in waves. A lot of people still haven’t received a decision apparently. Hang in there guys…hopefully they’ll let you know soon. :)

Oh well then I’m not sure. But I talked to a representative from CPP today for our school’s career day. I think she was annoyed of me because I kept pestering her with nonstop questions. haha

Dang it… being “eligible for consideration” is driving me insane! I have heard from all of my UC’s by now; I never thought that CPP would be one of the last ones I end up waiting for! I really, REALLY hope I get in, as CPP is my top choice atm… Coming back from school everyday only to see “eligible for consideration” is bumming me out :frowning: Good luck to all of those still waiting!

Okay so a counselor went to my school today for the Uniersity Transfer Fair event. I spoke with her and she said that admissions will come in waves and will start sending out the next set of offers of admissions and denial from April 3rd through thee end of that month. She also said that there would be a GPA cut off. So if your GPA is below a 3.0, you’re likely not to be “selected for admissions”. It discouraged me a little because I have a 2.9. So after hearing that I just want to get an answer, even if it’s a rejection, which I hit the point where I really dont care anymore.

Azusa88, does that only apply for transfer students?(I read “Transfer Fair event”). Or does that apply for regular undergraduate applicants? If so, I’d be pretty annoyed…

@CarriedTo2400: That is the exact opposite from me. I got accepted to Cal Poly Pomona 2 weeks ago and I havn’t heard from any of the UC’s I applied to yet! lol

@CarriedTo2400 ITS DRIVING ME INSANE TOO… are you a first time freshmen or transfer student?

@ImNeww I’m a first time freshman

@CarriedTo2400

I feel the exact same way too… I stay checking my BroncoDirect account everyday to only find “eligible for consideration”… But im still hopeful and Im not giving up hope that I might get accepted.

CarriedTo2400: this applies to all transfer students and word has it that it’ll be even harder to get in next year, requirements and even more stricter measures of admission selection will be used. I’m a community college transfer.

As for freshmen, I’m not too sure, they have slightly different requirements, but in general they apply to both freshmen and transfers. "Higher GPA and grades.

Ugh do you know if the higher gpa requirement applys to tier one schools? I heard they weren’t allowed to raise minimum gpa on us

Im confused does this mean i was admitted, or there still considering admitting me? “Congratulations! You have been provisionally admitted to Cal Poly Pomona for the Fall 2010 as a Animal Science major.”

And has anyone recieved any information about Financial Aid?

^ That means you’re in! Congrats.
