Thanks, but yeah I’m gonna call them. Man that sucks, I hope you get in JL. College is frustrating.
Best of luck

Still haven’t heard…
what the effff

Well I just called the office of admissions to find out for sure what eligiable for consideration means. The man who answered said it means that we’re on the waiting list. He said we should know by the end of April. Goodluck to anyone whose gonna wait, I think I’m gonna stick to my backup.

Thanks for the info^^

This is a question for a friend…but um…
how do you tell where you are on the wait list?

^ Portal account

you go to the BroncoDirect portal and if your status says: “eligible for consideration” it means you are on the waiting list.

Anyone here going to a CC if they dont make CPP? Im thinking about applying to a CC and start registering for classes since this is taking so long. Just for backup purposes since registration started for most CCs already.

Blackmamba where?I attend two ccs and reg for fall ain’t till July. This waiting is a nightmere. Still no word at all for me

^ PCC and Mt Sac (also ELAC)started already (not registration for classes just preliminary registration and applying) Im debating which one to go to (PCC or Mt Sac… most likely mt. sac cuz less crowded and i’m closer to there) though if CPP doesnt take me. I wanna take a summer class though. What CC are you atttending JL if you dont make CPP?

I havent gone to Mt Sac for two semesters because my registration date is horrible. I have about jr status but I cant register for classes until a week after classes open and nothing is left. Last time I registered for fall there it was in July so I am pretty sure you are golden you may want to think about applying tho. PCC I would assume is less crowded, Mt Sac has any class imaginable but I cant imagine whats its like for a ftf if im almost a senior and I cant even get into classes there. Just FYI

Are you serious? …=( Damn ■■■. I wanna do a TAG at Mt Sac and go to UCI or UCSD. But if I cant get classes, I aint going anywhere SMH Pretty sure PCC is way more crowded. Almost everyone I know that didnt make a 4 yr is going there. PCC is a farther drive for me. Like 4 times the distance to Mt Sac. I dont mind driving if I can get classes. But Mt Sac is the ideal CC for me since its closer. You going to Mt Sac right now? Do you know when registration for summer starts? I cant find crap on their website!! smh

Wow,

I am sure she got in with those stats. Will she be attending if accepted?

If sac has a program for what you want to do by all means do it. Just be warned it’s crowded there. You can always crash a class to add it. If you were loookin for ge’s only and didn’t care I would say pcc. However right now it’s crowded everywhere. I know back before the budget crisis pcc wasn’t as crowded as sac(sac is a huge cc one o the biggest) but I have no idea now.
When I apply for my first fall semester at sac(fall 08) it was in I wanna say June I was accepted by June and I registered late July/august. I have no idea when reg for fall 10 is but I’m sure it’s around that time. I am at citrus and we typically reg for fall around then. Idk keep your hopes up man. Maybe call sac and pcc and talk to an admissions consulor for advice. They’re super helpful
good luck

I have contacted the admissions office three times in order to understand exactly what “eligible for consideration” means and each time i got different answers.

The first call: I asked what “eligible for consideration” meant and the girl told me it means I am on the waitlist. Due to the budget cuts only 1,000 transfer students will be accepted and priority goes to surrounding comminity colleges like Mt. SAC and Citrus college. She also said there is a GPA cutoff and when I asked what it was she said she couldnt tell me. She then asked what I put on my app as my GPA (3.19) and she said to keep checking my account because im very close.

The second call: I asked the same questions to see if I would get a different response. This lady sounded a bit irritated. Probably because so many people have been calling to ask the same question. She did tell me that admissions is happening in waves and that people are still being admited.

The third call and probably most helpful: I spoke to a nice lady who explained EVERYHING to me in about 5 minutes. I asked her what “eligible for consideration” meant and thats all she needed to hear to get started. She said what the others said about admissions happening in waves and she told me people with a GPA lower than 3.0 will not be admitted. She also said that since the trascript deadline for transfer students was extended to the 25th of March that there are alot of apps that have not been reviewed and that we should all get some form of answer by the end of April.

Also, the Cal Poly Pomona facebook says that another wave of admissions is happening soon.

I wish they would just quit being so mysterious and just give us a Yes or No !

Has anyones status changed from “eligible for consideration” to “provisional admit” ?

Does anyone have any other helpful information ?

thank you Ok4Ever
appreciate you clearing that up a bit
unfortunately mine is still eligible for consideration :/

I also forgot to mention that she said she did not know if any letters were to be sent out to people on the waitlist. So I guess if we don’t get an answer by the end of the month then that’s the end of it.

What are you guys applying for?

that’s so bull…

im applying for landscape architecture

I am applying for the fashion program. This is driving me nuts because they aren’t known for this program. I figured I wouldn’t have to wait this long since it’s anything but impacted

It was mentioned that the gpa requirement was raised for tier one schools? I heard they cant raise the requirment for them and I am wondering if that’s still the case
