CPP sent out several notifications by email back in November and December. I got six before I found them in my SPAM and completed it. My status still says Application Received. I think I am going to choose the University of Arizona anyways. They gave me a nice scholarship that included an iPad.

Last friday

Hmm. That’s weird, I never got any e-mails about the supp’s… At the most, I got multiple ELM tests to register, and making a Bronco Direct account.

Did anyone’s status change yet? I thought they said they would be done by today?

My status hasn’t changed yet. To make it worse, I had a nightmare about it too -__-!

I called the admissions office Friday and they said that they’re trying to get it all done by next week :P

LOL, I guess they want to see us suffer for another week. Anyway, hang in there guys.

So this means that they’ll still give acceptances right? :3.

This means I’ll have to sign up for the ELM test :X.

This is getting stupid… they keep telling us “oh we’ll get them done by ___” and it never happens

They’re not being considerate of their very own deadlines.
If I’m going to pay a $100 admission fee, $350 housing down payment, and $75 orientation, I would like more than 10 days to make a commitment (I apologize if the prices are incorrect, but the message is still the same).
I get more and more angry the more I come on this forum, though the community is fantastic. Every two weeks its “oh the admissions office told my over the phone that we can expect admissions by this date.” But then the date approaches and another poster claims the admissions offices stated a date 2 weeks further in the future. This is absolute rubbish. Just take our damn money and admit anyone above the eligibility index requirement. Considering the CSUs don’t look at extracurricular, that should literally be all it takes.

This fall, Cal Poly Pomona received 30,000 applications for 4,000 spots, but some who are admitted do not attend, making it difficult for the university to rule the other 26,000 completely out!

At this point the bulk of the entering 2012 class has been admitted, and those who are still waiting to hear from the university are in a “de facto” wait-listed status. If you haven’t heard from Cal Poly, chances are you weren’t admitted, but MIGHT gain admissions if enough already-admitted applicants don’t choose to attend–sadly after the May 1st deadline.

So, start making plans to attend other schools in the Fall, and only re-consider if you really, really, want to attend Cal Poly Pomona (e.g. agriculture, architecture, engineering, hospitality). For other programs (in business, liberal arts, science), other Cal States offer excellent alternatives.

@CEinCali, How would it work getting admitted after May 1 for those that intend on living on campus? Are they just gimped, and even if they are admitted, they are denied a spot in dorms?
And why cant broncodirect have a transitional ‘wait listed’ status if what you say is true?

Anyone thinking of greek life? I think I would join a club to meet people, so I dont feel so alone since ill be so far from my old friends

@CEinCali, I mostly agree with you but I think many people still waiting may have a pretty good chance. When the admin did the same thing two years ago when this post was started, I don’t think they calculated their yield rate properly (the rate at which admitted applicants actually actually accept/ enroll). I believe they miscalculated, fell short of their target and let in a bunch of lower qualified applicants late into the summer to make up for the shortfall. I really hope they are not making the same mistake this year. Realistically, if you have a 1200 /1600 on the SAT and a 3.8 GPA one should have a somewhat lower chance of getting into the impacted majors, ie architecture, engineering (excluding technology), and animal pre-vet. An 1100 and a 3.5 should get you into a non-impacted major. Otherwise, I think the Admin is making a huge mistake in turning away highly qualified and smart people and risk letting in a bunch of slackers with 3.0s and <1000 SATs. I really hope that’s not the case.

I agree with Dwardom. Money isn’t an issue and I understand there’s a tight budget, but this is ridiculous. If this is a plan to shoo off people who can’t wait, it’s working. But that’s a good thing for those who have no other choice like myself.

Now I’m just getting paranoid about whether or not I’m getting in with a 3.14/1050 >__<. …

@CEinCALI - How do you know? Do you have any evidence? Otherwise you’re just ruining people’s hopes. A lot of people have been getting accepted in the past couple days.

@jljl123 Has anyone been accepted over the weekend? Or should I just stop checking my broncodirect now?

Not sure, a lot of people got it last week though

For the Student Center, can we fill out activities we do or is it useless?

Thats telling us CEinCali…!!! Thanks…we appreciate your positive reinforcement.
Actually, I am a high school teacher in Cali and know for a fact that many students that were admitted into the CSU’s including this one will actually NOT be attending (these would be my personal students) because they are not getting the financial aid they were expecting. They will go the CC route. There are no more “free rides” and everyone has to pay something… so, those spots will be open. Being patient is a good thing in this case. My daughter was already admitted to another CSU and if need be, will accept by the deadline however, if CPP comes through and she is a late admit, she will take it and call the other. Worst case scenario, you lose your deposit and open space for another to get a late admit on the flip side.
Last words of advice from the “teach”, if all else fails, transfer…if you did get into another CSU, inter college transfers are easy. Start at one and end at another! If not, do your GE at CC and try again in two years. The way I hear it, things are takng a lot longer these days. And, the UC will admit CC before anyone so, you may end up in a better place up the road.
CPP seems like a great school but there are other ways to get to where you are going. Never give up hope!!!
