Anyone heard from honors?

I sent in my essay for the honors program within LSA and they responded that they had received my essay and would begin reviewing my application for admission to the honors program and inform me when they had come to a decision. The whole e-mail made it sound like I would hear relatively quickly; however, it's been a good while and I haven't heard anything. Have any of you heard?

I am still waiting for the honors and preferred admit.

My only guess would be to call the honors program or email them to ask them how long it takes.

Email

Admissions email

Regular mail

Phone: (734) 764-6274

Fax: (734) 763-6553

If you emailed the essay, email them again to make sure that they got it.

I emailed them about how long it would take before we would hear back and their reply said they were missing my essay when in fact, I sent it a few weeks back.

Within the email I sent when I sent my essay yesterday I asked how long it would take.

I'll post a reply when I get one.

When you will hear back:

They are no longer reading essay until Jan 1st.
They make decision either accept, defer or deny.

If you do not hear anything from them before February, you can assume that you were deferred.

It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple months to hear back
depending on the decisions that have been made on your application (i.e.
waitlist, accept, etc.).

That is the reply I got.

do you only apply to honors after accepted into lsa?

and does anyone know the acceptance rate into the honors program?

What is the topic for the honors essay?

Does everyone have to do an Honors essay or does the UM Undergraduate Admissions office only contact you about completing one if they have doubts about the strength of your candidacy like grades/test scores/etc.??

The essay is optional...
