<p>Are you guys from the Merced area? I drove by Merced on my way to Davis. It’s very unpopulated out there.</p>
<p>@chelsiemorning I’m from So Cal. I went to see the campus a few years ago but I don’t really remember the surroundings well. I just got my acceptance today but heard from UCR first. My friend graduated from there in June and she said it is a tough area to get accustomed to because there isn’t much around. However, she said there are so many activities on campus that it makes up for the lack of community.</p>

<p>If it helps, I found out last night. They didn’t actually send me an acceptance email, but they sent me an invitation to Bobcat day. I figured while I was there, I might as well log in and see what was new. Because I wasn’t really expecting anything, I switched to other tabs. Imagine my surprise when bombastic music started playing and the admissions director welcomed me to the school.</p>
<p>Point is, if you want to know, you should log into the portal. I still haven’t received an official letter or email yet, but the site will tell you if you have been admitted.</p>
