Anyone here feels that your strongest major is not your most favorite major?

My strongest major is math and science. I scored over 100% on many of my science classes and math classes. Now I am a junior and I am in pre-calculus honor now. still I feel it simple(regret on not taking AP calculus). At the same time I am in AP physics, which usually should be taken in the Senior year. And I only need to do some practise to follow along the course(which means I don't have a really hard time yet). But I never plan to be a scientist or mathematician.

Instead of all bunch of science stuff. I love drawing more, so I took the AP studio art last year. even I got an A in that class, But I only got a 3 on the AP exam, which frustrated me.

Anyone has the same feeling?
Any idea?
welcome to discuss

nobody ever feels like this?

I sometimes wonder the same thing. I do well in math classes, but that's not necessarily what I want to go into...

then what major are you gonna choose? math or your favor?

i do much better in math than in science, but i wanna pursue a biology major; i guess that it's technically a good thing cause when i finish my major, I'll still have my strong math, but I'll also have a strong biology with it; i sometimes wonder if i should double major with math and biology just cause i have a stronger background in math

Im taking AP Physics, calc, and stats and im NOT going to major in math or engineering in college... well maybe... UNDECIDED AHAH

A friend's son got an 800 for SATI Math (old test) but majored in film studies & wants to be an extra & work his way up to being a movie star. He graduated & is in Hollywood pursuing his dream.
My son always does very well in verbal & reading 800/770CR SATI, but wants to go into math/science, which he also does pretty well in (tho he did get a C for honors pre-calculus junior year). He does NOT plan to study anything in liberal arts.
I'd say follow your passion--tests are only one measure & ETS & College Board do NOT make the best measure of what you know or your passion.

I agree with HImom, and I also believe that some stuff just comes easier to some people than others. But, just because something is easy for someone doesn't mean that he'll necessarily enjoy it. For example, I find coloring easy, but I don't particularly enjoy it. However, biology, which I often find very difficult and tedious can still be one of the most fun things in the world.

I LOVE science, but I am not particularly good at it. Rather, I am actually brilliant in the area of social sciences. Ironically, I HATE social sciences.
This totally sucks!

I'm good at Science and English, but I don't think I'm going to major in those areas. Probably Economics.

I would say my strongest area would probably be in Computer/Electrical Engineering, but I love in Finance/Accounting/Business Mangement.

I do not hate math, instead I have a kinda good feeling during I am doing difficult problem, because i know i am gonna solve it. I like chem, I have a feeling of pride after balanced a extreme hard reaction, I am just love them. But I never plan to take major in math or science. I love drawing more. So I am kinda shifting around and cannot decide which major to take

by the way the reason I love art and design is because I play video game since I was 6, and I watched how it developed from very simple graphic to high tech 3d realistic graphic, I am just total in love with the graphic stuff. an other reason is that I studying painting when I was 3, and I like to doodle on my textbook( never do that, or you gonna pay for it) for years. I like to doodle on my test paper, my notebook and anywhere I can find space.

I rock at Physics, and am mediocre in English Lit...but Lit is my fav subject...would love to major in lit, philosophy and history but i need my bread and better. Going into econ most probably...

doesnt architecture kind of combine both art physics?

try that

Seraphthrone, it is very difficult to score high on AP Studio. The seniors in my school who were able to finish their portfolios both got 2s. One kid would have had a 5, but didn't have enough pieces.

Anyway, I've been a math/science guy all my life, until sophomore year, when I discovered that I really enjoy English literature and writing. I'm probably going to major in engineering or something because I'm still more math/science orientated, but part of me wants to go into English or at least study it further. The psycho part of me wants to double-major, but most likely I'd like to minor in English.

I hate science and its definitely not my strong point, I just despise science especially chem and physics, and I certainly do not like bio. However, i LOVE math and I find it simple and fun, and I plan to study some math courses in college. However, i also LOVE english and do very well in it, got good sat scores, and I LOVE to read and write...but I hate writing essays and I definitely could not major in it. Im just a grammar freak, heh, and I love literature, but reading it for fun not for a class. So I'm probably going to combine my love for math & english and go for Business- finance/econ/international business/actuarial science and a minor in computer science or art history heh. I LOVE art history. I'm planning to double major and minor :-p

Yahh I totally agree...I guess I'm advanced in math and I did well in my science classes...BuT i hate science and math is ok...but I want to do something in International Relations/Business in College...totally different subjects...

I'm very good at science and when math is used in science, but put me in a plain old math course and I don't do so hot. Grrr...

and I am in AP computer A right now, I am doing it well(first in the class), I like computer too, I study programming since I was in 3th grade( I learnd some thing called LOGO), and I studyed QBasic when i am 7th grader, and right now I even don't have to look at the book to ace my AP.
also I did well in some other area, I really cannot decide what major to take~~~~~~
