Does it make any difference in admissions when applying to schools close to where you live? like for cal or for santa cruz?

bay area residents have a very, very, very slight priority in UCB admissions, and I’m assuming SC admissions too. What would matter much more, is if you took advantage of your location by taking classes at the UC during the summer, got involved in a UC club, or joined the Starting Point Mentoring program at UCB. I have done all of those things, so I am hoping they will make up for my bad GPA.

hmmm thx for the tip shannon, are you planning on transferring to Cal too?
