I am at a community college planning on transferring to a 4 year college in the near future. I am interested in coastal and ocean engineering. Can you work in this field with a civil engineering degree? It would be far cheaper for me to go to school instate and this school does not have any sort of coastal program. The school is Clemson. I believe they offer one class in coastal engineering. I have thought about a civil engineering degree then getting my masters in coastal engineering. I also plan to do a co-op during my undergrad and will try to find a company that does this sort of work.

So would it be better to get a civil engineering degree at Clemson then get MS or go to a place like Texas A&M or UF for undergrad?

How hard is it to transfer to A&M or UF for an out of state?
