Anyone here worries about having to start college in an older age?

Yeah! We don't have to be as tall as the models or basketball players to be considered something special!

But I do hate it when people try to be to politically-correct and call me "vertically challenged". Jeez. I'm short, say it, but don't *over*state it!

yeah true... over stating is bad....

hahahahhahahahha vertically challenged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love heels. I kinda consider the pain of the heels, to be a trade off, for its pretty influence it has on my legs. Heels always make my legs look so long and slim..

yeah most people think im a guy.
and for the 100th time on CC, NoFX is a girl :)

Vertically challenged.... lol it's hilarious!

Everytime I feel a little fat for my height I tell people that I'm not fat for my height, just a little short for my weight :)

grin Sorry, NoFX. Seems like a lot of people on CC thought I was a guy, too. A hiphopish guy with a lot of "bling bling".

....

True...what heels do to your calves...but I don't wear skirts (long or short) unless made to, so nobody can see how pretty my legs become afterwards. :p

And Cotton_Candy: Do you mind if I use that, too???

LOL sure go ahead :) You can also credit me if youreally want want to!!

laugh

*"I'm not heavy for my height, I'm short for my weight!"

blink "Wow, Izzy, that's pretty...cool..."

"Thanks! I got it from Cotton Candy!"

"Huh? You mean...from an amusement park with those fortune cookies or wise advice from a fortune teller?"

"No! From Cotton Candy! From Israel!"

people slowly back away from the little Asian girl*

My name is Dana :)

And hey, thanks for the credit! shy Soon I'll be famous among your buddies if you keep using it! I have lot's of jokes about short people, I can later add some more... What can I say? I got a lot of these as a kid!

nice conv*** but m getting all... neways :)

sweta, did they edit you??? puzzled Why would they?

Hmmm...there's an Israeli Dana here at my school, too. Is it pronounced "day-na" or "daaa-na"? (If this makes sense?)

no i just put tht**** myself

lol it's pronounced daaa-na :) yeah it did make sense. my name is one of the most common names in israel so i'm not surprised. i always spelled it danna but changed it to dana recently, dunno why. but yeah, when i introduce myself it's def daaa-na :)

btw, i'm so proud to have started this thread, it keeps growing :) We have degressed from the oroginal topic though, but who cares...

I suppose the digression is typical. :D Like the Int'l SAT Result thread. laugh But it's fun. I'm amazed at the diversity of intels applying. For example, I never knew there were so many Bulgarians in the U.S. And of course, most people have amazing activities and all that. :( I'm an ordinary sheltered female who never much had the chance or made the opportunity to advance outside her comfortable bubble... Let's just hope the bubble pops in college!

you go girl... altough, i do think college is another bubble, just a bigger one. i dunno much about your background but one thing that stands out and def cought my attention is you excellent english! are you Bulgarian?

and you don't always have to have the opportunity to advance outside your comfortable bubble, activities are sometimes so contrived, i'm seriousely thinking to cut down a few off my list so i don't look to much like an "all star" who just does way too many meaningful things. and go read the new thread i just posted, where i expressed the other difficuties of foreign admissions, other than being desqualified in my number 1 school. the fact that your thinking far shows that you have a lot to go for, more than the average student who would never dare letting this bubble to just pop away and consider US schooling. bottom line, you're fine, and you will be.

yeah a great thread... cheers to DANA... already feels like i'm having conversation with my own friends... btw, u all done with apps, essays and all? i have sAT 2s on saturday... it's tuesday already... ani we're having a big festival all this week... and I AM LAZY ;( both of u seem so much accelerated and smart...

Dana, I'm not Bulgarian. I'm Asian and I grew up in international schools in mainly S.E. Asia and Romania. Some people say living in so many countries is so cool, but other times I envy those who have childhood friends...

I read your other thread; I agree with : ))). Should burn at the stake, that lady!

I know college is yet another bubble. I recall reading on several school's Livejournal that sometimes you can get stuck in the "(name of school) bubble" if you don't take the initiative. But hopefully it'll just be...MORE. You know... stars in eyes :p

Sweta,I don't know who you are asking, but if it's me, the answer is NOPE. Done with SAT's, but not my essays, which everybody knows is the hardest. I'm also stuck on teacher recs and who to ask.

yea i know u r not doing ED anywhere kyare,
btw, wut r u gals dream colls?

laugh Actually you're ED-ing to one of my dream colleges. :D Good luck with that. Other than that I'm hoping for Carleton. :) And started to fall for Cornell College.

hahaha actually MHC was my 2nd choice earlier* i wanted t ogo to REED but slowely fell for mhc... and I'm falling for conncoll these days but will do 2 here... btw, i wish i'd get in mhc... my present dream college ;)
