Anyone hit with transferitis?!

Although I’m at school from 9 to 5 every day, I’m not hurting too bad. I feel lazier, less driven, sure–but I’m pulling straight As for 16 units, somehow; and I’m still doing everything at the last minute. 22 more days. That’s all that matters.

Here it is!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/704209-about-ucla-transfer-provisional-admission-contract.html

Yeah, now that grades really don’t count I seem to be doing better than ever in my classes without even trying (and the classes are considered hard for a lot of people).

^ thanks for the link! wonder if he completed his math and english requirements? duh, that sucks. that’s why i opted credit/no credit this semester because no matter what, my GPA is going to stay the same.
that thread was from 2009, we should check in with the dude and find out how it all turned out!

@SwagandTag, that is really funny about your classes. the whole grading system is bogus if you ask me. some people just get stressed during testing and get lousy grades. it was pretty stressful getting though a couple years at my CCC. so glad that is almost behind me. seriously, we should all be proud of ourselves just for that.

I think i am the only one who is working hard for classes. =)

I’m expecting a SGR from USC so I’m forced to work hard this semester. Also, since my pre-reqs and 2nd semester english course are IP, there’s a good chance I get rejected from all of the UCs :’(

Northbeach,

Yeah, I never thought about how being less stressed out about applications and grades could cause my classes to become so much easier. This is very interesting. I’m gonna remember this attitude for the future so I can use it when needed.

@swagandtag
good idea! i myself have learned so many amazing things during this process of applying to schools. coping with stress successfully is an invaluable tool for living a happy life. lawmaking said it “transferitis” and that really hit me today. this is a very fun and helpful website. my parents didn’t have this, guess they just went to taverns and babbled into their wine glasses. haha

I felt a bit less motivated Winter quarter, but I upped my game for finals and I’m 99% I maintained my GPA, I’ll see soon when grades come out. I think I might take one of my classes P/NP for Spring though. The last day to change to P/NP for us is in early May, I believe. Depending on what school I get into, I might do that, since I wouldn’t even need to update the UCs on that or anything…that’s about as much slacking off as I can handle, though. I want grad school. :)

Yea man. I can’t concentrate on my current classes, still trying to figure which school is going to be best for my graduate degree goals. I am irritable & miserable. I don’t know how you younger dudes don’t go ape ****…

Just so you guys know, I’m pretty sure UC’s only want you taking certain classes pass/no pass so look out. I don’t think you can take the assist classes pass no pass because once you transfer they are basically counted as your lower divisions which in most cases (if I remember correctly) have to be taken for a letter grade. I’d recommend checking before doing anything.

^ this is true. my major requires advanced language courses at CAL, so i called them and they specifically told me to go ahead and take them Pass/No Pass, because they did not want, need, or expect them to be taken for a letter grade. i am taking Pass/No Pass this semester because i already completed all of my courses for IGETC and prerequisites with letter grades and i have over the 70 transferable unit limit, so i am tossing some units out before i transfer.

You can only take up to 14 units of P/NP classes
None of your pre-reqs can be taken for P/NP (Otherwise if Okay’d with the admissions office)

one thing cheered me up today and alleviated transferitis, i realized we will be entering our UC two years ahead of our freshman classmates. and will not have to compete to get into the most populated classes, because most of us will be working on our upper division courses. it just dawned on me how great it is to have all my General Education behind me.

5 more weeks!!!

My transferitis is getting worse!!!

I think I spend too much time on this website instead of doing my hw! ughh! oh well, I somehow force myself to pull together an assignment like the night before it is due… totally not my old self

I am!! :frowning: but unfortunately I will be applying to medical school in an year or two so all my science course GPA will be counted. All I’m taking right now are science courses too :frowning: super sad face.
