I got mine today!
I wish all of you luck!

I’m still waiting on mine :(.

Sent in app: November 22nd.
Accepted into UW: December 17th.

Come on honors! Surely 1870 is such a horrrrible SAT score was it?

@Shark06, if you don’t mind, could you share your SAT score/GPA with us? :)

Hey, I was just wondering if it is still possible to apply to the Honors Program although I already got into UW?

Thanks!

No, you can’t apply now. You should have applied to Honors when you applied to the school itself.

vzhao: you can do late admissions for UW Honors. Check one of the recent board topics for the link :)

Did you guys enjoy the chat today? I thought Honors_folks were very helpful.

^^ I couldn’t make it because I was on a field trip all day. Was there anything you found particularly helpful?

SophieGerman, lot of different topics were covered and it was not easy to track all conversations taking place simultaneously. But UW students sounded enthusiastic about the curriculum. I got some useful feedback MATH 124/125/126 sequence vs. MATH 134/135/136 etc. It was also fun watching what admitted people were asking.

guys, what chat are you talking about? o.O

For those who has been accepted already,

I was accepted to UW on Feburary 1st. I still haven’t got my Honors letter. Should I call in? I’m so anxious. I’ve been waiting for the mailman for 2 weeks now… What should I do? Is calling in a good idea?

gl92, calling is not a bad idea. I know how you feel.

The letter came today from honors. I got denied and I’m really sad. I don’t know if I’ll be able to attend UW because my parents feel that OOS tuition is too much, but would have agreed to it if I was in the honors program. I do understand their feelings and they feel bad too. I still love UW, but it is alot of money for OOS. I’m sad…

All I can do is wait for the UC decisions. However, the UC’s are going through some pretty ugly times and I don’t want to be subjected to it.

I did get into WWU Honors Program. I’ll be visiting early April. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

gimmel, sorry to hear that you were denied admission to honors college. it is not that exclusive - from what I can tell at most 1/4th of the the courses are exclusive. you can still do departmental honors and avoid larger classes. good luck.

^^Maxxwell, you’re very sweet to say that. I’ll look into departmental honors. Thank you.

gimmel,

This girl at my school was accepted to UCLA and Western’s Honors Program. She chose WWU Honors. She’s loving it.

I’m sorry about UW Honors. I’m still waiting for my letter :(

lol i got my letter yesterday and got rejected. basic stats were ~3.9 gpa, 2330 sat, above average recs…
i’m not too bummed out though, since i’m roughly 100% sure i won’t be attending UW. good luck to other students!

Neon_Green, that was surprising. Looks like essays play a big role in honors admission.

It is must have been hard for you to get motivated to write essays for UW honors admission when you were already admitted to UM Honors.

Similar thing happened to couple of people in our school who didn’t spend enough time on their honors essays.

Anyway, wish you all the best!

thanks maxxwell! it pains me to say this, as i grew up a husky, but as of right now, i’m leaning toward usc and the $80k they’re throwing at me. don’t worry, i’ll always have a soft part for sark, but trojan football is where it’s at! :P

for the record, uw was the very first app i filled out all the way back in september, so i put some effort into their essays. but w/e, i’m sure they had some reason.
