I've also posted on Grinnell forum, but does anyone have experince with what the merit aid level is for different grade and score ranges?

D = 4.0 uw / 4.6 w
720/710/730
760 bio
750 ushistory
AP 5s apush, bio, lang, world
AP 4s spanish, calc
full IB

should she retake M/CR to bump score marginally for better merit package? thx

Is she a senior? Does Grinnell accept later scores for merit or do they have a deadline?

Do you know if Grinnell only really considers the M+CR score of the SAT?

If so, then she has a 1430 M+CR SAT.

From the below…it looks like her scores aren’t in the upper quartile, which for many schools is the target area for merit. however, maybe Grinnell gives a bit of merit to those in the middle quartile. My guess would be that any merit would be smallish for the middle quartile, but ???

Middle 50% of First-Year Students

SAT Critical Reading: 610 - 740
SAT Math: 610 - 730
SAT Writing: - -
ACT Composite: 28 - 32

SAT IIs and APs don’t usually matter since those scores don’t help with rankings and such.

How much merit do you want?

Keep in mind that if you have “need” then merit gets applied to that first…it won’t decrease your EFC unless merit covers need and then cuts into EFC…or if you have no need.
