I'm looking to major in journalism and I've been doing alot of research on the top shcools in the country. The only thing is I would prefer to try to stay east coast and apply to a few schools that arent as expensive as BU, Northwestern, or Columbia. I've looked at the University of Maryland and Florida, but I was wondering if anyone knew if Quinnipiac and Howard University had a good jouralism program? Thanks for all of your help!

I am a journalist who is personally familiar with Howard's journalism program. Howard has a good journalism program that includes lots of top D.C. journalists who work there as adjunct professors.

I have never heard of Quinnipiac's J School.

Quinnipiac was just out of curiousity, I'm not to fimiliar with it myself. I really like Howard though and plan on applying there. I was just wary about whether their program could compare to say Syracuse or BU

Howard has an excellent broadcast facility. It's location in D.C. also gives it a major advantage over Syracuse and even BU.

I've really been looking to major in print journalism over broadcast. It's just been hard for me to find a range of schools over on the east coast that are good, because I don't want to go as fast as Northwestern or Mizzou

Here is a list of accredited journalism programs by state:

Also, Northeastern has journalism. It's not accredited, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a good program.

My S wants to major in journalism and we are looking at U of Md, Ohio University, American University, Indiana University, Mizzou, Elon, and UNC.
